Julia (renewing her membership at this very moment) will be there at 9:00.
Hi everyone,
I was thinking of suggesting a change to the Sunday RCP runs for *this week only.*
I heard on the radio today that the azalea and boxwood sections of the national arboretum have lost their funding. As a result, I was thinking that this Sunday we should do our run inside the arboretum to shake things up and take in the azaleas while they are in bloom. If you haven't been there, that's all the more reason to visit. This is a real hidden gem in DC and hopefully they find a way to renew this funding.
Anyone interested? It's road running on nice rolling hills. I've got a 2 hour run on the book so will likely start at my house and do 2-3 loops of the park before returning home. We can hit somewhere for brunch following the run. Our house is open if you'd like a place to change into dry clothes.
Just tossing an idea out there. For more information: Click Here »

Just joined and hoping to start off with a long run tomorrow...people still meeting at rcp? thanks!
Hey Travis,
I think the Arboretum tomorrow's a great idea. 9 am where?
Quincey, if you're looking for a long run, this is probably just what you need.
Patrick
Hey guys,
Arboretum run is ON.
Phil, Ryan and I are leaving from my house at 8am to run over there, do a lap, frolic in the azaleas and head out. We're looking to get in ~90 minutes tomorrow.
Paces will be 8:30/mi and faster.
Quincey, if you want to join you can either meet at my house at 15th and N. Carolina Ave. NE at 8:00 or meet us in the arboretum. Let us know where to look out for you.
Travis
Travis, I'll see you at your house at 8.
Where will you guys be entering the park? I'll meet you there! Looking for a 8-9 miler @ 8:30ish/mile.
There's really only one way in... just off of Bladensburg rd. You'll see a big gate at the entrance and you can meet us there. It's pretty clear once you get there.
Hi Travis/Patrick-- I'll meet you @ 15 & N. Carolina @ 8. thanks!
Anyone not doing Kinetic and planning to run tomorrow? I'm looking for 10 easy miles.
I'm going to be putting in an easy 10 hours of sleep after kinetic. have fun if you run.
Hi runners,
I know that this thread has been pretty inactive for a while -- And since that means you have been free on Sunday mornings, you should be able to help me out ;-)
I'm trying to recruit volunteers as run course marshals for the DC Triathlon on June 19. If you can help out, sign up here: http://www.dctri.com/register/course-marshal
This job is an important one to help us keep the run course safe on race day. With the addition of a world-class pro field, I'm even more concerned about the safety of the event and the reputation of Washington, DC as a premier endurance sport destination.
To sweeten the deal, all DC Tri Club volunteers will be entered into a raffle for a free entry to Nation's Tri which is now sold out.
Thank you and please, consider helping out at this event!
Finally, I'm planning to run for one hour this weekend and would like to hit the trails. Any takers for a 9am start? I'm planning to bike there from the hill.
I've got to get my run in a little earlier tomorrow, any takers for an earlier (7am) start? Travis, could I possible convince you on that time? Just think you'll be back at your house by 9am! :-)
sorry, I think I'm stuck at the later time. gonna be biking from 8th and Penn at about 8:20 to arrive at Pierce at 9 to run 10-12 on the trails.
Should be an interesting run after today's gut buster to the T. Solid.
same as last week, will be rolling out by bike at about 8:20-8:30 and running 9-10 miles starting at 9am. will be alternating between 5 mins slow tempo and 1 min sprint the whole way.
well, that is if i don't set my alarm for pm, like i did for the ride this morning.
Its 12 am this is a bad idea.
Thanks Phil for coming out, especially with 1:30 in your legs already. It was good to see the NTP folks out as well. Hope yall had a great brunch
Phil, here's the last 6 miles or so. I missed the first 3:

I have a 12 mile run on the plan for Sunday. It's broken down as 4 miles easy, 6 miles with tempo bursts and finishing with 2 miles easy.
I'll likely ride to RCP if there are any takers for the run.
Hey Travis, that sounds perfect. I'm in. Want to meet at Pierce or somewhere on the Hill to ride over?
