A couple of us will be heading out to Marshall, VA to do the Mt. Weather ride on Saturday May 29 (Memorial Day weekend). Meeting at the Park & Ride on Frost Street in Marshall at 8:00AM with the idea of clipping in at 8:15AM sharp.
It is a 56 mile ride with some very challenging uphill sections when we hit the Mt. Weather road. Please bring your own cue sheet available here. There will not be anyone sweeping the course, but that doesn't mean we're going to leave anyone in the dust to flounder in the wilderness. It is a gorgeous but definitely challenging ride.
You can reply here if you want to join us so that we know to look out for you.
Afterward, maybe we can head back into Arlington for some Ray's Hellburgers... yes.... if know me, you know what I'm suggesting. :)
I'm in but I'm confused, Ray's Hellburgers...Flexitarianism on steroids?
I'm in. Lemme know if anyone wants to carpool from Arlington. I'm slow, so expect it will take a while for me to finish.

I'm in. I'm trying to convince my merry band of riders to join me.
Yes, Ray's Hellburgers. It's not flexitarian if I only eat meat like once a year! That's just wanting to enjoy the taste of an awesome burger! :)
I have always want to give it a shot. And I do what Karen tells me to do.
I'd like to, but not sure on the date yet. It'll be a last minute decision for me.
Weather or not, here I come. (Unless the Lake McDonnell swim interferes.)
I need to be in NJ that night but may try to make the ride before heading up.
If anyone is interested in riding Mt Weather (see post above for cue sheet) TOMORROW, I'm heading out with a couple others. Plan is to meet at 8 at the VDOT lot and start rolling at 8.15. Let me know if you're heading out there - clcohen at gmail.
As of right now, the forecast says we're going to have sunny weather for this ride. So bring your sunscreen! :)
I plan to be there, with my husband and brother in tow. Actually, they'll probably be towing me. The three of us need to add some extra riding on there at the end or in the middle, in case anyone else wants a little bit more torture.
I'm in, I need a few more good hills. Not sure about Ryan.
Thanks for organizing!
Sounds tempting. How fast are you planning to ride?
I can only speak for how fast I think I'll be riding (I'd like to average around 20mph if I can), but I think it'll be a wide spectrum of speeds. Some fast, some not as fast. I don't think anyone is going to average 22+ mph, but I could be wrong. But like I mentioned above, I'm not going to leave anyone lost in the wilderness. :)
I'll be there as well riding around 20 mph. I also need to tack on a few extra miles after so I might join up with others that are doing the same.
I'm game to play
I'm out. I found out about Mountains of MIsery this weekend, and decided to throw my hat in the ring.
I'm in, and can provide a ride (I'm in SW DC) for another person and their bike if needed.
I am in. Will is that offer for a ride still availabe? I live in NE DC.
If so, let me know where and when to meet up with you. You can reach me at denarichardson at gmail
