I will be at Sandy Point swimming from 7-9 am on Monday morning. Want to join me? Not a clinic - I haven't been in the water in a few weeks and need to regain my feel for it before my next race.

Hmm, sounds interesting. Could bring my bike and running shoes too for an Annapolis jaunt afterwards.

In.

Here's the standard bike route, 24 miles. Can cut it short by heading back to Sandy Pt. instead of going up Rte. 2:

I could be up for a little open water and a bike ride.
Sounds like a great way to wake up :)

I plan to go tomorrow at around 10 am, not early morning, but I'll let you know about the jelly fish.

Tammy, this sounds cool. I am pretty sure that I will be there on Monday. Nothing like swimming in the bay early in the morning.

Word has it that if you swim fast enough, the jelly fish will bounce right off of you.

Here's a link to the nettle forecast. Doesn't look too bad. Last time I was out there (month ago), the nettles were out in full force and I was stung half-dozen times. It was annoying, not painful, and I kept swimming.

I was there less than 48 hours ago and there were none to be found. There was, however, a 50+ year old guy there with a thong. Not a Euro speedo ... A THONG! I kid you not. If there isn't a law against that, there should be. I think that I would rather be stung by a thousand jellyfish in both of my eye sockets.

I swam at 9:30 am this morning and didn't see any jelly fish either. I wish there was someone else swimming with me because it was quite scary to swim alone in the murky and choppy water. I'm a decent swimmer but I'm used to swim with other competitors in the lake or river and being surrounded by lifeboats. Where was the guy with a thong when I needed him?

Hi Tammy,

I'm in...I was planning on going up there alone until I saw this thread. I haven't been to Sandy Point since I was a kid, is there a certain spot your planning to meet up at?

Thanks!
Lory

Parking lot, outside bath house, or beach.

At that hour, there'll be few there but us endorphin addicts...

Thanks for the shoutout, Tammy Wombat. That was a fun and challenging swim in the choppy waves.
