Plan is to meet at Spelunkers, http://www.spelunkerscustard.com/, in Front Royal at 745 am. Park in the back and on the side street so we don't take up all their parking but there's plenty of spots. Makes for a fantastic frozen custard, shake, ice cream, burger place reward after the ride.
No matter if you're fast or slow, it's an out-and-back so no chance of getting lost or losing people for the most part.
This also allows you to customize your distance but the 2 main options are:
a) to Elkwallow wayside (~50 total, bathrooms, water, store, etc.)
b) to Thorton Gap (~62 mi total, bathrooms, water fountains)
Details including elevation profile, http://bikewashington.org/routes/skyline/index.htm, click on Northern Section, bottom right, for more info and my garmin deets last July when I rode 'b)' http://connect.garmin.com/activity/40771031
And here's even another interpretation of the elev profile! http://www.winthefight.org/cuegle/elev_profiles/72fp3rv.jpg?id=1038237526
Please post if you have a shen pass that allows you plus 3 or 4 cyclists in the park.
Bring your running shoes for a jaunt after the ride.
Feel free to post here if you need/want a ride or are willing/able to take a passenger.

See you there.
Count me in. Hope others from the Saturday ride can make it out.
-Brady
I'll be there. 7:45 seems unnecessarily early, though.
Ty
Glad you're in Ty! It's gonna be a warm day. Best to get it in on the earlier side.
Think that makes 5 or 6 so far. All paces/abilities welcome.
Anyone else?
- Adam
I will be there. Looking forward to it, this is my first time out to Skyline!
I can take a passenger if needed. Leaving from SE DC.
hey guys, I'm interested but don't have a car. Looks like it's about an hour outside DC? Dsdiver09, do you still have a spot open in your car? I'm in Arlington and can bike to meet you wherever is convenient.
Glad to see some more people coming!
Shannon, Brady is in Ballston and I'm in Courthouse. Might be more convenient for you.
Stephanie, I'll email you and the group here off-post to see if you and Jon, not on the forum here, can carpool plan.
Anyone else interested?
I don't think the airplane will drop me off on the way to DCA and I don't land until 10:45. Bummer because this is an awesome ride and I've been jonesing for some hills.
I'm in! What a week of firsts; first TMP and first Skyline! I'm leaving from Rosslyn and can take 1 person.
Hey Adam, thanks for coordinating! Yes, if you or Brady have an extra spot I'm in (are you driving separately?). Let me know where & when I should meet you (6:30ish?) shannonLbeebe at gmail
Going to shoot out an email to the cool kids here in a bit. Just need your email Stephanie and anyone else's that wants to go.
Just login and click on astolz1 to send me a msg.

I am in. This be my first time with any DC Tri people and first time in Skyline. Hurst wrists and finally back riding need some hills before triple-by-pass in CO. I am coming from NW DC, and could pick up one person and bike.
I may be a last minute addition.
Sounds good Jorlie. Good group going!
Stephanie, haven't heard back from you about carpooling.
Email me to try and coordinate , otherwise, see you and any other last minute ppl at Spelunkers at 745 tomorrow.
- Adam
OK, I'm in. Thx Adam. I'll shoot Ty an email to see if he wants to coordinate carpool from Alexandria.
Hey peeps, anybody have room for one more in a car from dc tomorrow to skyline? If so lemme know! Elizabethjudge@gmail.com
Hi,
I'd love to to join too but I also need carpool. I live in Ballston, across the library. If any of you have a space for me and my bike, it will be great.
This is my first group ride with DCTri so hopefully am not embarrassing myself :(
my email: intan.parada@gmail.
thanks, Lulu.
Thanks everyone that came out to ride Syline Sat. It was a great day to be on the drive and I believe everyone had a good time and enjoyed the challenge. Happy to report that my leadership streak continues with all riders making it back...successfully.
For those curious, here are my Garmin deets which show an elevation gain/loss of ~6300 ft.
