You should have to do an Ironman to call yourself a marathoner.

Because it's soooo bad to travel 26.2 miles on foot . . . in any time. I am not a slow marathoner, but isn't it all about getting off the sofa?

no its not "all about" getting off the sofa.

Its about "sitting on" the sofa all day sunday and watching pro football, the only football worth watching, and thank heaven the redskins are not playing this sunday, and watching "the most awesome team" the Colts beat up on the Rams. LOL

simon i'll one up you.... you should have to do the "marathon des sables" in order to be called "a marathoner". LOL..

Don't get me started on this one. Okay, maybe I'll say something. I equate the Galloway method in marathon running to the wearing of wetsuits in triathlons. Both expand the pool of athletes in their own sport so they are both equally fine to me.

In that case, I have never:

1. Played basketball: Can't dunk
2. Played baseball: Can't hit a ball 400 ft.
3. Played soccer: Can't kick a ball 100 yards.
etc.

This is a stupid argument. If you want to 'Race' 26.2 miles, go do it. Report your time to anyone you can find who cares.

Okay, maybe my thoughts were not clear. I truly believe that having the talent pool of athletes expanded is a great thing for sports. No way would I perfer to establish the elite status for runners/triathletes/duathletes in their prospective sports.

LOL, I agree any debate on any topic is stupid, who cares, right?

On a lighter note. The colts totally trounced the rams which is great.

And thank heaven the redskins didn't play today so that at least you could watch 3 good games today rather than only 2. LOL
