Aquabike-Aquavelo

Anyone else out there banned for life from running long? I got quite a rude diagnosis this past winter of degenerative arthritis in my left knee so I can no longer run long. Thus, relegated to Aquabike-Aquavelo events on Halfs and this summer a Full. (Can still do Oly and Sprints with running). Just wondering if I am alone or I'll see any DC Tri peeps like me out there?

I registered for Kenitic Half Aquabike - 1st Aquabike race for me.

Thanks Mosered - Maybe I can be the 80 yo who makes a comeback to Ironman (can it be a comeback if I've never done one?).

Yeah, my orthoped cleared me for one half, which I did this year, and thereafter mostly sprints with the occasional olympic. However, given my performance in the half, I think maybe aquavelo is a better fit for long races!

Maybe beware of "for life" statements, given advances in regenerative medicine, but ChesapeakeMan and VineMan are good IM AVs, and Beach to Battleship has that option too.

Don't forget Rev3 and non-WTC races in Europe. The Challenge series allow for aquavelo and relays for their Iron distance races.
