The 2010 Ironman World Championships are coming up this Saturday, October 9th 2010. The world’s best Iron-distance triathletes will compete for world titles in Kona, Hawaii on the most famous of triathlon race venues. As has been the case for many years, the event will not be telecast live, but rather shown at a special time on the NBC network in December. However, the event will covered be live webcasts on the Internet from the universalsports.com and ironnmanlive.com web-sites.
I like the live coverage on UniversalSports.com. They show more actual race action than the edited NBC show does. Of course I won't watch all 17 hours of it. I'll watch 10 min. here and there throughout the day. Great for motivation.
It'll be interesting to see if anyone can challenge Chrissie. And Alexander will be tough to beat too.
I agree with the coverage of universal (better), no doubt Chrissie is dominate and i don't see her letting up so my money is on her...odd, i have been hearing is a lot of trash talk, between the men, this year for some reason.
2. 20 pro men
4 Lindsey Corbin
Dark horses : Mglonne Catronia Morison Virginia Berastegui
is really close that but Top 3 Andreas Realert Crowie and Maca
Dark horses Andy Potts and Eneko LLanos
Tomorrow around noon let the fun begins
NBC is what it is, and one thing it ain't is live.
So, there are two options to stream it live tomorrow? - Universalsports.com and ironmanlive.com?
anyone have an opinion on which is better? what the differences are?
oh, would love to see rini challenge Chrissy. and want a darkhorse or two to make the men's race a race down to the final miles of the run.
Good picks for the ladies and like last year she will place ahead of 20 pro men again but don't forget Alexander for the men's...he's my pick. He just seems not to fade during the run like so many others, if you can crush the run you've got the win. Enjoy.
I would have both feeds up and bounce between the two, not sure if one is better than the other?
Chrissie Wellington has dropped out of the race! She said she wasn't feeling well and wouldn't have been able to compete like she normally does. The women's race is now wide open.
Chrissie W. is OUT!?!?!?!
According to Ironman.com, yes.
NBC confirms that Kona showing will be Dec 18, 2010 that means Dc tri Christmas party Separate the day
Incredible race, especially on the run. Andreas Raelert was really motoring in the middle part of the run but McCormack had the better race strategy. He picked it back up when he had to and wore Raelert out. Amazing how close it was until just the last mile or so.
Congrats to Mirinda Carfrae on her first title. I wish I could run like her. Or like Macca. Or Raelert. Or Alexander...
