Due to the success and popularity last month of the first revived Zoo Run, it's happening again!
6:30 PM, meet at Zoo entrance.
6:35 PM, Warm up jog together down into the zoo, then cut right on Beach drive/Rock Creek Pkwy and over to the park/field area at Calvert Street (approx 1.5 miles)
6:50 (approx): Plyometrics/dynamic stretching on the grass
7:00: Hill workout. Continuous circuit (the grass loop) for 30 minutes, option to run on flat some (out and back along bike path for those that don't want that much hill)
7:30 Core workout if people want for ten minutes
7:40 Cool down jog up Calvert then up Connecticut (approx. .5 miles) to starting point.
7:45 Drinks/Greasy, unhealthy food at Zoo Bar*
*Waiter/bartender is anxiously awaiting our return. Apparently everyone was really generous last time because after everyone left he was freaking out with excitement and begged for us to return soon
Awesome, I should make it this time, assuming I don't get held up at work like last month.
Will this be a good prep workout for a 5K? I signed up for another 5K for this upcoming weekend. It'll be my last 5K of the season before I cut back on training intensity and go into winter-training mode in November.
(I might do a run race or two over the winter but I won't be in race shape. I'll treat those races as glorified training runs, if I do any of them.)
I hope I can make it to the hill run this week. My legs finally feel normal again after the Half Full Tri.
I'm in! Thanks for putting this together!
