Thanks to everyone who joined me for Saturday training rides May – July. I have another century coming up soon & want to continue long rides, but need to move them to Sundays as I will be doing long runs Saturday mornings now.
I’m going to make a couple of changes in addition to the day of the week change. First, the start point will vary week-to-week & we will even do a couple of destination rides (eg, Reston Metric Century Aug 21). Second, I’m going to invite all speeds out since Tuan isn’t doing his Sunday ride for the rest of the season. The first ride will be this weekend (Aug 7) for approximately 50 miles.
I will start a new e-mail group so if you’re already on my Saturday list & want to be on the Sunday ride list, please let me know. You can post to this thread or email me at carrieAcampbell@gmail.com.
Please add me to the thread & email group: firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm interested in riding Sunday. thanks Jerry
Carrie- - please add me to the email group and thread, too! email@example.com. Thanks! I'm hoping to join this Sunday as well. Thanks! -liz
Please add me to the email group as well! firstname.lastname@example.org I won't be there this weekend but hope to join the following.
I can't ride Saturday so I'll be looking to get a ride in on Sunday. Where do you guys ride and what is the departure location and time?
I'll generally stick to my Saturday rides BUT I am interested in getting the info about fall century riding. It's always fun doing those with a group.
Location & time will change week-to-week. Send me your e-mail address & I'll add you to the distro list.
Travis, I'll add you to the list. Right now, I'm planning to do the Reston Metric in 3 weeks & Bay Country Century Sept 3. They are much more fun with friends!!

Due to the forecasted thunderstorms Sunday morning & afternoon, I'm moving the ride to Saturday this week. Below is the e-mail I sent to the group.
This week we will move to RCP to ride. I had a request for a shorter option so we will have a 30-mile out-and-back route, which you can do once or twice. I'll be going twice. You can also turn around any time you want to make the ride your own distance. We will meet at Pierce Mill just off Tilden St NW for a 7am departure. There are bathrooms next to the parking lot & you can park in the lot or up the road toward the Czech Embassy. You also have the option of keeping some fluids in your car to pick up after your first loop. Here is the MapMyRide link: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/45484660
There is no formal cue sheet for this ride. Here are my directions:
Head north on Beach Drive, crossing East West Highway (Beach becomes Jones Mill Rd)
Continue on Jones Mill
Turn left on Beach Dr after going under the Beltway before the Mormon Temple.
Stay on Beach until it dead ends at Garrett Park Rd
Right on Garrett Park Rd
Bear left on Dewey Rd just past the park
Stay on Dewey until you cross Randolph
Turn left onto Rock Creek Trail after crossing Dewey
Continue on Rock Creek Trail north though Parklawn Community Garden until you cross Veirs Mill Rd & hit 30 miles
Turn around & go back
Repeat once if desired
Can you please add me to the list? email@example.com. Thanks
Please add me to the email distro for updates on scheduled rides. I'd like to link up with the group this Sunday, Sep 4, if still scheduled.

That was an interesting itinerary yesterday, past some of the ritziest and scenic residential neighborhoods in Maryland, and some of the longest-bounding deer anywhere.

Weekend rides have been discontinued for the winter. Keep your eyes peeled for the Saturday ride to resume in April or May.
