Thanks to approval from the board, join us for an Unbelievable weekend of fun and crazy hills. Some legendary stories and friendships result from this trip every year. You don't have to be a vet or good at hills to join - there's a course for everyone. You can just hang out at the lake. Deep Creek Lake is beautiful.
About half the group from last year.
The plan may be surprisingly similar to last year's.
Last year's plan

The summer calendar is filling up fast, and that helps, thanks.
Yeah, Andrea and Adam on the board were very aware of the schedule and potential conflicts, and found a weekend that works. For now, at least :)
hmmm... the weekend after Lake Placid. I'd hate to miss the annual DCL camping trip but I may have to extinguish my own torch this year.
Yeah it's the weekend after IMLP, but the summer is pretty packed as it is. We still need a lot of help with the trip, and your experience leading / helping will be well received. We'll need base operations, campsite leadership, ride leaders at all levels, ride sweepers, and SAG. We didn't have SAG and as much overall ride coordination and sweep last year. We'll need swim and run leaders as well. And much better ghost story telling. Plus your knowledge in coordinating after-ride fun at the brewery, restaurants, will be needed! Bring your torch, and more torches as well. In other words, you are going.
It is also the weekend right before the National Harbor Half. Lot of people are gonna be in tapper mode.
This is why you do your racing early in the season and spend the rest of the time doing all of the fun stuff :)
There's plenty of options at DCL for tapering mode, plus camping fun. Relaxing your mind and soul the week before the race is bound to be a big benefit. You could also do the super awesome taper: ride Savageman course, rest 6 days, PR your 70.3.
I'm so IN! This has definitely become a tradition for me.
I hate to take advantage of a tough situation, but just want to note that since the Nat Harbor is cancelled, you at least have the opportunity to get some great training in at DCL. Since the campsites go fast, went ahead and got 10 campsites (60 capacity). Should be plenty of room. Check with updates from the club from here for details to come.
I always enjoy this club event. When do you think the sign-up spreadsheet will be posted?
The upside of HIM National Harbor cancellation :) IN!
Working with the board on this and they have been great, so stay tuned. Should be no lack of spots, unless we decide that over 60 people are going... Probably fair in that case to say that folks who say In here are good - working to hopefully do things through eventbrite.
Great! Thinking about SavageMan so I'm in for the training weekend to get a feel for the course.
simon- count me in!
Count me in! I'm an NTP'er who is (foolishly?) considering doing the Savageman 30 after having so much fun at Peasantman.
Count me in! Keep us posted when the sign up is available.
Please count me in too.
This was awesome last year. Thanks for organizing again. In!!
Really enjoyed the fantastic group and ride last year, thanks for making it happen again! Absolutely in, plus one.
