I'm surprised I haven't seen this go up yet. The race is only 10 days away. So who's ready for some goose $hit infested swimming, cyclist filled bike riding, and hilly running?
Columbia Triathlon Roll Call. Who's in? I know I'll be there! :)
In with Julie C., Suzy and Carol. We'll be the ones starting at the back, just before the Relays and Clydes.
In... don't forget that not only will there be goose shit, but it will be icy cold goose shit.
Julie C., Suzy and Carol - will likely see you at the back - I think I was in the 3rd to last swim wave last yr as well. Maybe all those ahead of us will warm up the ice cold goose $hit.
Every yr I say I am not doing this race and every yr when registration comes around I register. Need help with my addiction.
morunner - too funny! We say the same thing every year too! Gluttons for punishment!
In. Alas, no chance this year of getting body-marked next to Chrissie W., like last year. (Volunteer: "Number?" CW: "3" [or something like that]; Volunteer: Age Group? CW: "No, Pro." Volunteer: "Really?")
In for year 3 for a cold swim, hilly bike and even hillier run!
In. Ready for the annual nap between setup and clydesdale last wave.
In! Wave start - 8:04 am. Good call on nap, Simon.
I am racing in this triathlon
Yup - confirmed - 2nd to last wave start (and last age group wave start - women 40-44). Never thought I would be looking forward to next yr - aging up to 45 and moving up to wave start #4!
Well - looking forward to meeting all my relay and clydesdale friends on the course. Maybe I'll get to know the rest of you sometime. And save us some good food at the finish!
In too. First timer for this one.
So does the goose shit count as a nutritional supplement?
trying to think of something witty and cleaver about fois gras....
In! Triathlon leg #5...planning the time between transition closing and the "older" ladies swim waves. Sigh.
Traded my bib for a volunteer spot as I'm freshly post-op from surgery on my right quad. Hope to provide cool beverages on the run as I hobble around!
I'm in. --Chris
Anyone know if the club tent will be there?
Congratulations to everyone who did Columbia. We had quite the impressive showing out there. I met so many guys in the club today named Mark that I felt I was in the Twilight Zone or something. :)
Congrats to the few NTPers who did this race as their first triathlon. You all looked great out there. You crossed the finish line and that's the goal!
Congrats to Andrew Sovonick for placing 1st in Male 20-24 and to Simon for placing 4th in the Clydesdale 39 & under. And congratulations and my apologies to anyone else from the club who placed and I don't know. There probably was a Mark who placed and I didn't meet him!
Also, kudos to all the volunteers from DCTri out there on the course. Way to represent! Hugh, Julie, and Amanda and all the water stop volunteers: BEST water stop on the course! :) Great job guys!
Liz Carroll took 2d in Female 55-59. Woot!
Thanks so much to the volunteers and to Mimi, Hugh, and Julie who spent the whole day from start to tent breakdown helping the club. Shelly-Ann has the best cheer voice. Having you guys there at key hills in the run was huge.
Congrats Team, once again we conquered the legendary hills of Columbia.
