Thanks. We're sort of at 42+. Figure that we'll end up with less actually, so not adding another campsite. If u posted after #42 we're sending u the spreadsheet, but will keep note of who posted after 42. Right now the spreadsheet has less people than have posted here. So if we end up with less we're good (likely). If we end up with more we will deal with it at the campgrounds.
Updated the spreadsheet with initial camp assignments. Check your emails for the message.
Also please take the Myrtle Beach survey found on the website front page under Buzz. Thanks!
The rental at 435 Brant Rd is available. $300 for the weekend. Has 4 beds and one bathroom.
I would prefer not to be organizer for this. I'm nominating Michele as point of contact for the remaining 3 beds.
Is it still possible to add my name to the list? I didn't know about this until today.
There's probably room. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll send you the spreadsheet.
I can be the point of contact for anyone wanting a bed in a cabin rather than a sleeping bag on the ground. If there isn't enough interest, I'm fine with a tent/camping.
Also, I may have a change of plans and may not be along for the weekend. If so, I'll see if one of the people interested in the cabin is willing to take over.
Kyle, when do your neighbors need to know for sure?
Simon & Co~ We have one more woman of character joining--Dana Farrell, lately arrived home from cycling across Africa. The long way. She'll be carpooling with Dave Stephenson and I. She's not a club member yet, but will be before next weekend. Maybe you can get her near me in campsite 112? Although maybe she'll want cabin spot--see below. In any case, I'll put her info into the spreadsheet.
Kyle~ Dana's service dog could conceivably come along. Would your neighbor be cool with the dog staying there? If Dana did? Needs a place to be while we ride.
Michelle~ We'll reach out to you if the cabin looks like the way to go.
sure John - just add her to the sheet and put 112. thanks!
I'm out. Having a minor surgery that Friday.
So minus 1. Have fun out there!
A fortunate thing about being named "Mini Me" is that, by definition, you can only have minor, and not major, surgery.
Question forthose experienced with the area: What is faster from Route 68, taking Route 495 or Route 219 south to the lake? Thanks,
Definitely not 219.
Fastest is Exit 22 to New Germany Rd to 495 to Glendale
Shortly slower is Exit 19 (495) to Glendale
Highly recommend a trip to CandyLand near Exit 22 on the way out of town..... :)
One spot just opened up in my car for a ride there. Can give or take ride. savvyveteran at gmail dot com
Now all set with rides, thanks.
Hi I'm new to the DC tri club but I've become a member and plan to attend the weekend training. I'm also MUCH slower than everyone else, but still hope to hang out and learn a bit. :) - Maya
FYI- For all those thinking about food/ supplies, each campground has a fire pit and grill.
Additionally, there is potable water available, and they sell ice and firewood on-site.
Thanks for that answer Kyle.
Another Question out there for those experienced:
Is there a place to stop and get more liquids along the Savageman 70 course? Thanks,
There is a market at mile 35, just before the right turn onto Otto Lane. This is noted on the cue sheet posted on the Savageman website.
Is the Sunday ride still scheduled for 830 am?
Multiple MVPs in Deep Creek weekend. Simon for planning, Angie C for picking up several with SAG wagon, Mark Z for bike checks, Glenn Elliott for carrying spare tire for blowouts, Matt F for course marshalling, Kyle Yost for providing lodging, the club for subsidizing the campsite....And those who ran, up to 13 miles, after riding those hills, geez.....
