Shut out of Cherry Blossom? Fundrace for BOMF!
POSTED: 12/15/09 10:43 AM

In case you got shut out of Cherry Blossom, below is info on how you can get an entry as a fund-racer for BOMF. I'm happy to answer questions. Thanks! Hilary Cairns

Back on My Feet ( is an official partner of the 2010 Cherry Blossom Run, which takes place on April 11th. We have 40 guaranteed entries that will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Many of you have heard about our fund-racing campaign and we are very excited to be working with this race. The fundraising minimum for an entry is $1,800 and you have until April 8th to do this. It’s really easy to fundraise for BOMF – there are just two steps:
1. Reserve your spot here – - Please note that when you reserve your spot that you are committing to the $1,500 fundraising minimum.
a. A fundraising page will automatically be created for you. You can personalize this page with a picture and/or text and you can start collecting donations online immediately.
2. After you reserve your spot, you will get a special registration link for the Cherry Blossom Run and a one-time code from us to sign up for the race.
a. Benefits – all fundracers will receive the following benefits: BOMF wristband, cotton shirt, tech shirt, half-zip pullover, running hat, sweatshirt, and an invitation to the dinner the night before the race.
This is a really great way for you to help get the organization up and running in the DC area and we greatly appreciate you consider running on our behalf.

More information on this worthy cause:

BOMF has been featured in Runner's World magazine and you can read about it HERE »

If you don't know Hilary Cairns, she's one of DC fastest runners -- male or female -- and is very dedicated to pushing forward the community of runners and athletes of all levels in DC. The fact that she has dedicated herself to this cause is an indication of the the quality of work you can expect from the program.

However you can contribute, if you are looking for something to contribute your time and/or money, I'd encourage you to check out BOMF.
