Great day today at Sandy Point - thanks to Hugh for the swim tips & leading us on a ride where there were no people sitting on their front lawns with shotguns shouting,"Get a motor!"
-the fastest 1.2 mile swim ever (I like Adam's measuring)
-2 speedsters (who shall remain nameless) getting passed by a tandem :)
-Slash (aka Casey) getting not one, not two, but three flats
-being told by armed uniformed men that we were not allowed to re-enter the park at the end of the ride because it was closed
-celebrating someone's 30th birthday
-parking by a sprinkler & giving Ty an unnecessary shower
-meeting some great new people
Hope to do it again sometime soon!
Thanks to everyone who showed up. What a great day to 'officially' end my off-season. I'll be emailing out a copy of the swim tips. Mimi, just remember if you're not sure which turn to make, always rely on the hue sheet. -Hugh
Another Sunday Funday at Sandy Point this Sunday!
Some of us (being myself, my NTP mentee and a few other NTPers) are headed out to Sandy Point on Sunday to get in some open water swimming. I'm aiming to be there at 7AM as it's Memorial day weekend and the park is going to fill up fast. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us!
I was planning on a pre black bear OWS to tri out the new wetsuit! I'll join the fun at sandy point but 7 is a stretch. I'll be there at about 8 if others want to join the second wave.
Wish I could make it, but I've already made plans to head out to ride the Eagleman/IM-MD course followed by a run. I may stop by on my way home.
I was at Sandy Point on Monday after work and the water temps are in the low 60s. I lasted about 40 minutes in a sleeveless Xterra.
I'll be out there Sunday at 7AM or maybe earlier.
