Let's hope mother nature does it's job and warms up the river this time!
Register now to race or volunteer(we really need you!) for what should be a fun swim, bike and run.
Please note the new/extended bike course is 14 miles. This should help take bikers off the busy road, Gunston Rd a bit as well as space out cyclists for better traffic flow.
We need about 12 volunteers to make this happen. Please sign up early to ensure we'll have a safe and fun race.
More info on the event can be found HERE.

Gotta bump this. Surprised there's only 4 vols and 6 racers thus far.
Hi -- I've been trying to register this morning and the link isn't working.
Ditto- I keep getting an error message instead of a loaded Webscorer registration page. Who can I contact to fix it?
Same as the others. I cannot register because of an error message.
Sorry, as of 7 minutes ago...
"Webscorer: We have a problem with our firewall and are working on a fix."
I don't expect this to last very long.
Registration closes 9pm Thursday, 5/15/2014 so you all have plenty of time. Check back in an hour.
Site is back up.
We really need volunteers too. The sooner Racers and Volunteers sign up, the easier it is for me/us to figure out what's needed and where to put people.
Free for Vols!
I still get a timeout/ error message--will keep trying, though! Thanks for looking into it.
Yea, it was up and then I posted that it was back up, and now it's down. Sorry. First time I've ever seen the site go down. Hope it's not down for long.
Let this be a lesson to register early. Going forward with the 6/14 Training Tri and on, we're going to give a monetary incentive to register early too.
PS If you can volunteer, you can add yourself to the volunteer sheet HERE while you're waiting for webscorer to be back up.
Hi - any chance I can catch a ride with someone on Saturday morning? I live in DuPont but can meet wherever's most convenient.
I hope someone can give you a ride Sat Joe.
Wanted to add a couple things...
- We still need a few volunteers. To volunteer, click on the registration page and select "Volunteer" in the Category pull down. The cost will be zero. Fill out the info and click "Submit".
- I added a map of the Start/Finish/Parking/Transition area on the event page. Note the addition of porta-potties.
- For those that experienced or heard about the hydrilla last year, they haven't had time to grow yet. This plus the high tide and ~71 deg water should make for an excellent swim.
- Note the new extended bike course. As always, know the whole course!
- Registration closes Thursday at 9pm.
Hi Joe-- I could drive you but would need a bike rack, as my little clown car barely fits my bike. What are the chances you don't have a car but do have a bike rack? Feel free to email me directly on gmail- chrissy[dot]balz
Is anyone interested in going for a long run in the area after the training tri? Need to run about 10miles Saturday....
Thanks to my 7 volunteers (thus far)!!
Registered. Bday training tri! it is a strange feeling entering your age in as a year older for a race only a few days away.
I should be able to take care of the photography or the grill (but not the shopping, because I do not have a car).
Let me know.
Great Lucas! Getting some good shots and afterwards, helping with the grill or the bbq would be awesome!
