Oh, I can see this is going to be good.

A plan for the last weekend long ride before IMFL
SUNDAY BIKE RIDE WITH THE VERTICAL SWIMMER
Star Date: Last Ride
Good Morning Children of the Peasants,
I'm organizing the last ride of the year this SATURDAY. Yes, I know it's Saturday and not Sunday but I refused to be constrained by the MAN and his backward ideology! Oh, wait a sec, I'm Vietnamese Royalty ... I am THE MAN! Peasant class citizens, please strike that from the record. We will ride Saturday because it's good for you. That I command.
This will be a casual ride of 51 miles. Those who want to tell me to push the pace can bite me. Those who still have an IM on the calendar can go further if you'd like but I'm tapering. You could do the 51 miles with us then come back and do the big loop at Haines Point for whatever mileage you need. I will be smelling the roses and picking the daisies as we ride.
It is about time that I show off my new clavicle. Some women have referred to it as Brad Pitt quality while others have been known to call it very Clint Eastwood-ish. I prefer to call it for what it really is ... The Royal Clavicle. In other words, it may look like yours ... but it's better.
I know that there are a bunch of people who are reading this who have yet to come to any of our rides. I can only deduce from this that you are a Vietnamese hater. For importantly, you have shown a total disrespect for the Vietnamese Royal family. Next year when you ask me to put you on the email list ... I will know who you are. The next step would be for me to sell your email addresses to the Nigerians. You will get more emails about winning lottery tickets and Viagra than you care to read about. This is your last chance to amend yourselves by coming out for a little joy ride. You have been warned.
We shall meet at the usual place (M and Wisconsin) and clip at 8:30 AM. Yes I know it's late but I can't rule the Kingdom on less than 10 hours of sleep. I'm not like you peasants. I can't work maximum hours for minimum pay. I just can't!
51 Miles of daisies.

FOR THE SILVER SPRING GROUP
The Silver Spring express train will meet 7:50 AM at Picnic Area #10. We shall depart at 7:55. Oh Animal Kingdom of Rock Creek ... how I miss thee. This week we shall build a bon fire, saute one of yous, and reminisce about the good 'ol days when the Squirrel Nation was smart enough not to jump in front of a moving car, a moving bike, or a moving Vietnamese.
Take care everyone. See you out on the road.
Are costumes mandatory for Saturday's ride? See, Sat. rides are funner!
Sure!!!! That would be down right hilarious. I am going as a slightly oversized Puerto Rican 10 year old boy in DC Tri attire... ;)
On the 7th day before Christmas Santa gave to me ...
A reminder of why we are counting down the days, why we swim more than we should, why we bike more than we should, why we run more than we should, and most of all ... why we smile every time we think of it. If this doesn't make you smile then the Ironman just isn't in your future.
Lisa ... costumes are mandatory. I'm coming as a Vietnamese
I look forward to this post everyday but now - videos! You just aren't playing fair. You keep this up and I might go to the pool.
7 days day away from the biggest day! Here's the only thing I'm sure of for November 7th: It's going to be a great day for ALL of us! Injured or not injured at all, it’ll be a great day!
Here are some good videos

On the 6th day before Christmas Santa gave to me ...
A pat on the back for making it to end of the training. At exactly this hour one week from today, I shall be standing on the beach with my brothers in arms waiting for the gun to go off at IMFL. WOW ... simply WOW! All of the training and hard work has come down to this ... a waiting game and a test of the nerves ... just WOW.
And after I do that, I am going to get to the race and go as hard as I can for as long as I can, or until I pass out. And I am not talking a hard pace, I am talking all out 100 percent. I should make it to the 200-300 mark in the swim before needing to be rescued.

Pictures of the last long bike ride of the year. Shown in the pics are the IMFL class of 2009 ... all first timers. From left to right: Tuan, Adrianna, Mark, and Ryan.
you guys are Troopers. Awesome!
On the 5th day before Christmas Santa gave to me ...
The Vamboghini (fancy tri bike with a Vietnamese engine) is ready for a little funky action.
On the 4th day before Christmas Santa gave to me ...
A very productive day at working reading the course overview
On the 3th day before Christmas Santa gave to me ...
Leakage ... I'm begining to leak fluids. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing but there is leakage :)
These are pics from IMFL 2008
On the 2nd day before Christmas Santa gave to me ...
Over $300+ worth of IMFL merchandise. Mark Z said that I'm minor league compared to him. Also spotted in Panama City ... Jeff, Doug, Kim and Ryan.
To everyone racing IMFL -- especially the first-timers -- GOOD LUCK!
We'll be following you and sending good karma all day. Now rest up for Saturday!
And try to remember that feeling you have about 5-10 minutes before race start. I think that is the the best part of IM racing more so than even the finishing of one.
