Does anyone have any feelings or experience on the Rock & Roll trainer?

My current trainer took a dump and I need a new one. The concept looks interesting, but a $150 premium over the standard fluid trainer is a good chunk of change.

Thanks!
Ryan

The difference being these are the top of the line trainers, and probably won't "take a dump" on you anytime soon!

I have one and 'love it' as much as one can love a trainer, that is.

the price on the standard kurt kinetic trianer is really a great deal. i should know i bought one of them a while back for practically the full msrp because that is what it was going at for the time. its basically the best fluid trainier you can get that isn't hooked up to anything electric, etc. very smooth and as quiet as you can get. And it won't leak ever.. the only way it will leak is if you drop the thing out of your car.

i subsequently sold mine because i personally can't ride indoors due to boredom.

i never tried the rock and roll thing, it looks very interesting and very, very big base in person, so if you are somewhat limited on the floor space you have that is something to take into consideration.

REI is having a sale on the Kinetic Road Machine Trainer (why does it have to be neon green?!?) during their Winter Sale, which goes from Nov 20 to 30. It's on sale for $270 - the same price as the Conte's discount. Buy it at the store or order online and have it shipped to the store for free.

They're also having a sale on all skiing and snowboarding equipment.... SOOOOO want. :)

Performance has a pretty good fluid trainer that has lasted me last winter and running well currently for $120. It's called the Travel Trac Century or something like that. It's cheap but quality.

Funny you should mention REI - the catalog was on my table and the deal beat anything on the web. So I offered it to my wife...Merry XMAS to me!

I agree - some other pretty good deals in that catalog including those winter jackets...

I'll be there today if anyone wants to come visit. You'll probably have to look in the cave to find me and I'm out of there at 6 to head to Carpool for the club Happy Hour (I'll be the one at Happy Hour with grease under my nails).
