I love this course! Goes right by my house in mile 1 so there's a slight chance that I'll be there on time and warmed up.

Debating between National 1/2 on 3/20 or Shamrock 1/2 on 3/21. For the 2nd or 3rd year in a row, the spring races are on the same weekend! WTH

Who's in for Ntl. 1/2 and full? Who's in for Shamrock?

I know there will be a ton of people from Team Z doing the Shamrock weekend and like me there are lots of people in both clubs so lots of support and familiar faces will be there. I vote everyone do Shamrock! ;)

I'm doing Shamrock on March 21st. We have a house Friday till Sunday that still has room for others. Shoot me an email if you're interested and I'll provide more details. dilksang70@yahoo.com

I too have been contemplating between the two but I seem to keep hearing shamrock. is anyone doing just the half at shamrock? i am not sure, i thought about the half but it seems like sort of a cop out thing to do- then again theres the 8k on sat and then do the half on sun which seems a little less wimpy.

I'm doing the 8k Sat. and the half Sunday and know several people doing that option. No marathons for me until the Fall!

Signed up for the National Half. Most of us here are DC Tri Club members and not Team Z members. There are only a handful of people in both clubs.

I'm in for the National Half also. It will be my third year and its a fun race, easy to get to because its local, and last year we had a great club brunch afterwards.

Simon, my comment regarding Team Z was not an advertisement for them. My point was that there will be a lot of people from the area there too and probably some familiar faces to cheer everyone on on the course.

Regardless, both races will be fun.

Two other smaller, low key marathons are the B and A Trail Marathon on March 7th (www.annapolisstriders.org) and the Lower Potomac River Marathon on March 14th (www.cbrcmd.org). There is also a half with the B and A, but I plan to run the LPR. Flat and fast!

For the national half / full, there was a code that worked from the MCM expo, 'nmonsite', which gave 15% off. Not sure if that still works, but worth trying.

Doing the National Half, going for a sub 1:20.

To add on to ncrcoach, there is the MCRRC Greenway trail marathon around the same time as the B&A, starts in Damascus, ends at Riley's Lock on the canal.

I just signed up for the full (thanks, Simon, for the discount code!). I did the half last year and it was a great course; most of it is in places I don't normally train. So it's nice to have something different that is also easily accessible!
