Celtic Solstice 2012

Hi.

Anyone from the club doing Baltimore's Celtic Solstice 5mi in a couple weeks? I know a group of DC Tri Club people usually goes there.

I personally am looking to send 'em through Druid Hill Park.

I read somewhere it's a 10K this year. True?

No, it's 5 miles, according to the race website.

You're probably thinking of the Dreaded Druid Hills 10k that is held in June.

But of course I am. :) 5 years and running (pun intended), even through the snow storm of 2009. Still my favorite race (but then again, any race that serves me alcohol at the end is a favorite race of mine).

And it's still a 5 miler.

There will be a handful of us heading up. Any suggestions for good places to meet?

One of the few certainties in life: Celtic Solstice = Bad weather day.

@ Bryan- either or both! First time up there so I don't know the park very well.

Beforehand, it's probably easiest to meet in the tent where packet pickup is. It's warm in there too. :) Probably closer to bag check or near a center tent pole.

Afterwards, either outside the tent near the race numbers board or around there. We've also done a brunch at Cafe Hon which is a few blocks away on 36th street. But you gotta get there early (i.e. finish the race early) or you'll be waiting a long long time.

hey- if any of you know of someone with an extra bib, please let me know. I have a friend wanting to run this race but she missed registration.

Cafe Hon sounds like a good place. I am witching my energy goo to caffeinated, then, to finish promptly)!
