I just read that all the campsites are reserved. Would someone be willing to let me set up my tent on their site also? It's just little ol' me :) Also, I am heading down solo, so if anyone would like a ride, please let me know!
I have a spot reserved for both Friday and Saturday nights and it is just little ol' me as well! You are welcome to share the reservation with me. Not sure how many tents are allowed on one site though.
You are allowed as many tents as you can set you can setup. I think you can fit 4 comfortably
If anyone else needs a campsite, drop me an email ... No cabins, just tent campsites.
I have a standard campsite (no elec, no water) with two tents so far, so I'd be happy to add more.
Just a heads up, the reservation agent I spoke to a couple of weeks ago told me there is a 2 tent limit per site. I have never been to Lake Anna, so maybe this is wrong or is simply not enforced. From the fine print on my confirmation: "tents must fit on 20'x25' tent pad", so this supports what Tuan says.
Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll join Sharon's site since she's the only one at the moment.
I just received an email replied back from the head park ranger at Lake Anna. My question to him was:
"Can we have more than two small tents per campsite as long as they fit within the confine of 20x25 gravel area of the campsite? We have a few people who want to pitch 3-4 tents at the site so that they can be together in one place."
His response was:
"There should be no more than 6 people per site and yes you can have several tents as long as they are within the wooden bourders."
I will bring my email correspondence with him to Lake Anna. If anyone gives you any problems, please contact me. My cell phone number will be listed in the athlete's guide that I will be releasing next week.
I have a campsite reserved for Sat night and so far it's just me. Let me know if anyone else is still looking for a campsite.
I have been camping at lake anna before, and it's not the number of tents that can fit on the site that is the limiting factor, it the 2 car limit/site.
Thanks for bringing that up Dena.
There is a two car limit. However, there are several overflow parking lots available for people to park in. The park ranger has told me that people can park in the overflow area near the camp site for as long as they want. Every campsite gets two free parking passes. Every cars after that have to pay for the $5 daily parking fee.
Hi all --
Emily, I would love to ride down with you if you still have room. Can you fit my bike & I -- I promise I'm not that big either:)
Dena -- can I share your campsite?
Of course I'll pay for gas and contribute to the site!
Looking forward to this!
I've got a campsite reserved too, and it's just me - so anyone is welcome to share.
I'll be driving from Silver Spring Saturday afternoon and can fit one more person in the car.
