The club's Ironman Training Program will be starting up in January for those of you who are interested in a structured program with a coach. The plan can be tailored to whatever race you are doing. Debi Bernardes is the coach of the program and she is fantastic....there were many PRs among the program participants this year! Registration for the program will open in December. Program details will be posted on the forum and distributed in our newsletter later this month.

Yes, there will be a Half Ironman Training Program in 2011! AJ Morrison will be coaching the program and it will start on January 17th. The program will target Eagleman and the National Club Championship race, Myrtle Beach Triathlon. but the training schedule can be adapted for any other races as well. Registration will open in December.

Just curious, does the IM training program include group workouts or do most people train on their own and with existing club group workouts?
Is there a separate group for folks who just want to coordinate some long training sessions together?
Info on the different training programs should be coming out any time now. We'll be sure to get the word out as quickly as possible and I'll find out some answers for you if I can.
Just FYI, This thread is separate from the HIM/Ironman/Oly Distance/New Triathlete programs. The original poster has actually been injured and isn't organizing anymore so it's up to us to keep it going. Just wanted to let all of the new folks on the thread know that so that no one is expecting an email that may or may not come.

If roads are dry and it's above 30 degrees (maybe even colder) I plan to ride on Saturday mornings. Below 30 and I'll likely hit the trainer instead. Sunday runs are on in almost all weather conditions... The sloppier the better.
I'll try to post workout info on those threads each week. I may not be at RCP this weekend but there will likely be a group there.
Lately, I haven't been swimming routinely so if you are able to twist my arm and get me into the pool I'd much appreciate it.
