A big 'thank you' goes out to the volunteers at the duathlon this morning. Also, congrats to all competitors who were there to deal with the flooding, traffic and course re-routing. Needless to say, we won't be scheduling any events during cherry blossum season. Where do those people learn how to drive.
I will have the results up in a few days.
Thanks very much to you and to the volunteers. It was great to train with the DC Tri friends and I look forward to the next training du.
Alex, glad to hear that you are okay. The next duathlon is on April 17th which is after cherry blossum season.
Good to hear you're okay Alex. Hopefully your bike is all right as well.
Thanks very much for the messages, guys. Appreciate it.
Just a few bruises and the bike has just a very small scratch.
I am very happy that I am ok. Thanks for all the help.
Thanks for putting it on. You guys did a great job.
Never felt so unsafe riding down there before though. I think I'll be avoiding Hains Point until those pretty pink flowers disappear.
Ditto on the thanks to Hugh and all the volunteers that woke up early and gave up part of their Sunday morning. I would have typed this earlier, but my fingers have just thawed out. :)
I appreciate the thank yous, but as an RD it wasn't easy to make a decision on the factors affecting the race. I really don't want to let anyone down and cancel the event. Most likely, we won't have to deal with that at the next du on 4/17.
The du was a great workout - I'm glad I chose waking up over sleeping in. Thanks to all the volunteers for coming out!
