It'll be very hot (90 and up) this week, but starting on Sat. we're supposed to have several days with highs only in the low 80s. The forecast only goes through Wed. of next week. The overnight lows will be in the mid/upper 60s next week so I think the water will be cool enough so that wetsuits will be allowed. But things could change.
The funny thing is that I had been concerned about the water being too cold. Last year I felt a bit chilly after the swim in my sleeveless wetsuit. I thought about getting those Quintana Roo speed sleeves (neoprene arm extensions for sleeveless wetsuits) but I decided not to.
For those with the later start times, a nap is a good idea. That's what I did at the Washington DC Triathlon. I just sat down on the pavement near the swim start and catnapped for a while. There was too much commotion around to go into a really deep sleep so I wasn't too worried about staying asleep and missing my wave start. I got up in plenty of time. I only slept for about 15 minutes of the 90-120 min. that I had to wait.
Looks like there has been another "tweak" to the course - no longer riding on Constitution Ave. I took the liberty of taking a stab at the course based on the posted Cue sheet (mileage is not quite right, and some specifics might be off), if you're interested, it is posted here: http://beta.mapmyrun.com/route/detail/22406788/.

Thanks for posting that. It's not a major change but it always helps to know what to expect.
Thanks. Not a big change, but between that and riding on the Clara Barton instead of the GW Parkway, the bike leg has lost some great scenery. Of course, I'll be suffering enough that I'm not paying attention to the scenery, so it's not a big deal.

Mike - Just for the sake of clarity, it appears that this is a change to the run course. A lot more hairpins, not unlike the DC Tri route.

No, it looks like the bike course has changed from just last week. The former course started off going east on Independence Ave, with a left turn onto 15th St. SW/NW. Then another left onto Constitution Ave. (I think). The new route avoids Constitution Ave. altogether.
Okay - I just noticed that the Nation's Tri run course had a link to a "Map My Run" course that looked loopy: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/dc/washington/312125901489836877
Either way, "it is what it is" and I will be happy if - after all these iterations - the start/finish is in the same place;-)
