Halfmax registration

Has anyone been able to register for the Halfmax Myrtle Beach race? Was supposed to be live 12/20, but still does not appear to be active...

You can't register for the 1 /2 because you have to qualify for it. The 1/2 is a national championship and qualifier for worlds at Vegas in 2011. I know Kinetic and Patriots are qualifiers. The club championship is the Olympic distance so for that you can sign up. I think the club doesn't get point for doing the 1/2. To qualify for the 1 /2 you have to Finnish in the top 33% in age group in any of the qualifiers
The above is if you are interested in qualify for Vegas in 2011 if you do the 1/2 with out a qualification race you will not be able to go for Vegas

Yes they are but if you make the time you wont be able to qualify for the Vegas 2011 world Championship.

It looks like the website (http://halfmaxchampionship.com/index.php is up and active now and registration is open. There are 250 general entry slots (meaning you do not have to qualify to race) available, but they will go quickly. If you want a general entry slot, you should register ASAP.

Anyone still having problems registering, try this link -- http://ultramaxtri.com/Registration.php. Looks like there are several links to registration on different pages, and many of them are dead.

And I thought I was special ;-)

This should be a great weekend with a lot of fun DC Tri people. Plus, if we did as great as we did with 4 people last year, just think how great DC Tri can do with a busload of athletes!

Simon - the original question that Greg asked was posted under the Half Iron Program thread. He was asking specifically about the 1/2 distance race that is a goal race for HIP. You are correct, the Myrtle Beach Tri, which is the Club Championships, is not limited to 250 slots, and offers both sprint and international distance races.

So, to be clear, the Halfmaxx 1/2 ironman distance race is limited to 250 general entry slots (or else you have to qualify) - it is NOT the club championship race. The national club championship race is the Myrtle Beach International Distance Tri which is entirely open for general entry.

OK cool, thanks for clearing my head. I see - this is a HIP post which we hijacked for the Club National Chanmpionship. Forum fun.
Note: thread hijacking is a common forum term and is not derogatory in nature without further context (ie you hijacked my thread jacka$$!).

The Myrtle Beach survey is up under Buzz. Please take a minute to fill it out so we can start planning.

Thanks everyone for completing the survey. Based on the results, I'm trying to add more rooms and will let you know when and what types are available. I'm hoping to add some two bedrooms with 1 King/2 Queens and a couple 3 bedroom condos. Once confirmed, I'll post again and start a thread for room sharing.
In the meantime, we have the following on hold at the Horizon at 77th from September 30- October 3:
4 two bedroom condos with 1 King/1Queen $85 per night
6 one bedroom condos $65 per night

Call: (866)413-8310 to reserve using the Group Reservation # 1458032.

Email Angela if you have any problems or questions.
