Others doing the Thursday Swim Clinic and follow-up Harbor Fest by Wave 1? Team discount.

I am scheduled for the 1500m on Sunday. Hope the weather holds out. Would prefer to do the 2.4, but not sure I can make it?

Is regestration required? If so, can you throw up a link? I am definitely in for that.

They're having a special on tonights practice swim/hh; $10.
I was thinking of going to HP but I'm leaning towards this instead, anyone else?

Anyone can/want to join for an easy 18 mile spin there about 5/515 first? http://tinyurl.com/4xr3t95

First and last part of this route is what I'm thinking of doing as a 40 mile ride post 2.4 mile swim Sunday. http://tinyurl.com/438uqvf

LMK if you're interested in any/all of this.

Adam ... are you thinking of biking to the harbor from DC or driving there then biking?

If you are planning to bike there from DC, I'd join you for the bike ride.

I considered that Tuan but the clinic/practice ends about 8 so to then bike back didn't sound so hot. Plus, I've heard there might be post practice grubing/imbibing that might be worth checking out.

You have an extra bike slot in your car? I can meet you somewhere near ballston or DC. I work in DC, but shouldn't be an issue with me biking to whereever or whenever you want to meet.

I am in for the swim tonight at the Nat Harbor. Plan to stay for the HH/grub afterwards. Am thinking of the 2.4 swim on Sun, but the 70% chance of rain is making me think twice. $50 sign up special at the swim tonight.

I was definitely looking forward to the 2.4 this Sunday. Then I looked at the water temperature and had flashbacks to Rockett's.

Current Water Temperature: 82.18 F

I'm still undecided.

I'm with Dena and jbrez on the Sunday swim at Nat'l Harbor. Add in the usual creepie-crawlies associated with swimming in the Potomac, and I think I'll be at Wilson on Sunday. -ihan

Went out last night for the practice swim and the water was great. Not too warm at all. Very comfortable swim. No current, very smooth and fun.

I'll definitely be there Sunday!

Thanks for the update on the water!

I signed up yesterday, then heard about the weather this morning. Oh well... Hopefully all will be okay!

Wetsuits? No wetsuits for Sunday?- what was the concensus on Thursday? USAT rules apply so is the water too warm for wetsuits? Tuan - you swimming Sunday? What distance? I've never done 2.4, but have been swimming regularly. My swim coach seems to think I can finish the 2.4 so I am going to go for it.

Any swag for this event? I need swag. Maybe one of those pool noodles...

Does anyone know where is the best place to park if driving to the swim?

Maureen ... More than one 2.4 miles swim a year is like giving the gods the middle finger. I will be at home napping :) According to Dennis, USAT rules apply for wetsuits for this event. I seriously doubt that there will be swag. Do the 2.4. Go big or go home :) The key to a good 2.4 mile swim is a lot of walking.

Sandy ... there is an outdoor parking lot next to the swim. I've been told that that's the cheapest option. There are also parking meters, but those are 2-3 hours increments. You might want to talk to Dena about it. She doesn't seem like she was a big fan of it last night.

Water was 81 Thursday. I saw one wetsuit out there.

Most of the people who went without wetsuits on Thursday said that the water temp was perfect when they were swimming. I have no idea what that means with a wetsuit on. I was too busy giving swim advice from shore to find out.
