Global Zero is hosting a big event in Washington D.C., and we want you to be there. On the anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, we're biking along the outline of a small nuclear blast in downtown Washington to call on President Obama to set the world’s course to zero by 2030.
You’re invited to Bike Around the Bomb.
All participants will receive a free Global Zero t-shirt, a free 24-hour Capitol City Bike share pass, and complimentary cocktails at our meetup afterward.
This August marks nearly seven decades since the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki -- a bleak reminder of one of the most deadly tragedies in human history. Yet there are still more than 16,000 nuclear weapons in the world today. The risk of a nuclear catastrophe happening again -- and happening here in Washington, D.C. -- is terrifyingly real.
But the opportunity to eliminate that risk is equally real. We can see a nuclear-free world by 2030 if world leaders deliver on the promises to eliminate these dangerous weapons. Though it won’t happen unless we demand it.

This is one anniversary we can’t afford to forget.
