Just finished my third season of Oly Tri's - signed up for EM 70.3 next year. My first HIM. Can anybody recommend a good book to ramp up to this level? Really don't have the time or money for coaching...thanks.
The Triathlon Training Bible by Joe Friel - and he has another book on IM distances - Going Long.
I'll echo those two, and also recommend "The Perfect Distance" by Tom Rodgers, also by Velo Press, which is focused just on the half distance.
I think The Perfect Distance would be the first choice. It is specific to the half ironman diatance and it is part of the Ultrafit Training Series, which was Joe Friel's company and Tom was an Associate of Ultrafit at the time. The philosophies will match those in Joe's book 100%, but with direct focus on the half ironman distance.
i think gordo bryn has a good book called "going long" that is good for someone considering IM or 1/2 IM distance.
Did get the Going Long book - just started it but it looks like what I need. Thanks all for the help - see you at Eagleman 10!
