Just curious since the park police have played the part of the double secret bicycle probation police all summer and have been cracking down on cyclists at Hains if anything has been cleared with them or if there are plans for folks to be at the turns like there have been for the practice tris in the past. I ask because for a TT stopping at the three stop signs on the short loop will clearly impact one's time. That being said I also understand that blowing through a stop sign on a bike isn't legal, but I'd like to avoid getting ticketed while doing the TTs in October and still put up a decent time.

As with all DC Tri training events, we obey traffic laws. The Club races are informal and we don't have the luxury of closed roads or police to direct traffic.

That said, we are looking into more formalized options for next year's Training Tris. There is a balance here. There are plenty of "official" races out there with dedicated staff and higher registration fees associated with the support provided. We don't want to move too far in that direction.

Will there be a gear watch on Saturday? I am biking down and I would rather not race with a bag. I assume we are staggering the starts, when do we anticipate the last rider will start? Thanks so much.

Results are posted for Time Trial #1: http://www.dctriclub.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Race.Race_Results

Registration is still open for tomorrow morning's Time Trial - it's going to be a beautiful day to suffer. Register in the Shop: http://www.dctriclub.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Shop.welcome

Finally, Oct 20 is our first-ever TEAM Time Trial. Our race organizers can chime in with the details but here's the idea. Teams of three estimate their finish time. Teams are scored on how close they finish to their estimated time. No watches, bike computers, phones allowed! Prizes for winning team.

ehhh, won't be the first time Park Police have stopped me.

Is next week's a team only TT or can individuals race again?

For the Oct 20 race you can do either individual time trial or the team time trial.

so apparently there's a 10K tomorrow (today) at 7:00 am that will go thru Hains point and the roads will be closed until after 9:00. This will clearly impact the TT and I'm assuming we can't actually hold the TT in the morning as planned. Can we roll out entry in 10/13's TT to next weekend because of this?

There's nothing listed on the Washington Running Report?
http://www.runwashington.com/calendar.htm

What's the name of this race supposedly taking place?

Luckily, you had to be a ghost to participate in the Boo Run for Life 10K, so there was no impact on the Time Trial.

But seriously, the Boo race is tomorrow (Sunday, October 14th).

There was a small 5k, but for the most part, minimal impact to riding and then only towards the end. Chilly morning, props to everyone who came out.
Cheers,
Wes
