understood... sorry if my word choice was poor I know M&A will be training not manning a water/aid station. :-)
Just giving a shout out to High Cloud! (I'm a bit biased that way)
I plan on going down early for a double brick, so I'll probably ride the kinetic course twice if anyone is interested.
I'm still in the sprint stage of my triathlon career. I plan on doing the sprint distances, maybe a bit more on the bike. Or if I am hypothermic after swimming in my sleeveless wet suit, I'll just sit in my car until the BBQ.
Still looking for a carpool. If you can help, dance_dot_scholar_at_gmail_dot_com please! I'll pay for gas!
Wait, how much is it per gallon nowadays? I should check before I commit . . . :)
Chris -- I can give you a ride from S.S. Leaving about 7am Sat, returning after the BBQ. I'll email you for specifics.
We've had a few cancellations so if anyone is interested in attending either the OWS or BBQ, please grab a free ticket.
Anyone have a link to the cue sheet for the Kinetic Half Course? I've looked online, and I can find the map view. Was hoping someone might have a turn-by-turn.
I found the Kinetic Half cues on MapMyRun. Look under the "Notes" for the cues. I don't have a premium account but those that do can print a nicer version than if you don't.
For those that want to do the VeloAqua option, I think Sean and I are going to shoot to clip in around 9:30a and probably push a 20ish+ pace, putting us in the aqua around 12:30ish.
Okay, at the last second... I'm in for swimming and biking. Rock. On.
Leaving DC in the AM and have room for 2 people/2 bikes. Hit me up.
Hi Abby, Im looking for a ride from DC, would love to join you!

Last second In as well for Sat (Crossfit clinic Sun). See you there :) If anyone wants to beeline back after the ride and catch LOU vs KY in NoVA at 6:09 pm let me know. Simon
Want to bring my kayak down there for the swim. If someone has the means to transport it, and can stop by my house on the way, which is directly on the route south to Lake Anna, let me know. (savvyveteran at gmail dot com).
sadly, Ed, I do not have a roof rack... if anyone else is looking to carpool, I'm totally game. Live in Old Town. Thinking of leaving around 8-8:30 (as soon as I've hit the farmers market... priorities).
also, I have a women's XTerra full wetsuit to sell (size S/M)... so if one of you ladies only has a john and wants to buy a full let me know - will bump up my post in the classifieds about it. I can't remember offhand what it is - vortex something or other. only worn once or twice and never *broken in* if you follow my drift. :-)
For those that have a Garmin (and Connect Account), I created and shared a Kinetic Half Bike Course on Garmin Connect that you should be able to use the "send to device" feature to load to your Garmin.
(A) This is my first time trying out the "Send to Device" course feature on Garmin Connect, but I was told by a Garmin rep that it "should" work
(B) I wasn't able to upload the file directly from MapMyRun, so I had to manually trace it based on the course map on SetupEvent.com (I left out the extra out and back 1 mile at the start), so errors are possible
(C) I recommend having a cue sheet/map as a backup plan and not relying solely on your Garmin
See you out there tomorrow!
Hi all, here is a rough route/cue sheet for the Rumpass Course, 1 lap for the Sprint, 2 for the Olympic.
Some of the pleasant surprises: Denis & Anna from WaveOne drove down and set up buoys for a sweet 350-yard swim course. High Cloud Foundation donated a ton of food. The weather was clearing and warm. Catherine Myung cooks a mean barbecue. Jason Brez can do an ironman, kind of: 80 mi ride, 9 mi run, 3 hr drive. Luke, Becky, and Denis can surely swim fast. Trevor Albert can put on a bricnic for 30-40 people almost singlehandedly (tho a volunteer coordinator or two might make it a little easier for him the next time)....
Wish I could have made it. Sounds awesome.
I was just giving Trevor a break from the grill. And he totally deserves a hearty pat on the back for pulling this training day off!
Trevor thanks again, awesome job pulling everything together! Great venue and weather definitely made for the perfect training day.
