Think I'll be able to make this weekend trip! I can drive 3 others and have room for 3 other bikes. Not sure if this is a dog friendly trip, but am looking into it.
Btw, I got lodging at the nice Quality Inn there, and have room Fri Sat for 3 others who prefer to "camp in luxury".
In for camping.
Justin, which camp site / loop are we planning on using at DCL?
All, I still have room for 2 more humans and bikes in my car, leaving next Fri afternoon.
Does anyone from the arlington/downtown dc area - leaving anytime friday (preferably early afternoon) have room for another car and bike? I'll gladly pay for gas.
Mark - The reserved sites are in the same area but are split between the Meshach Browning Loop and the Delphia Brant Loop. We have site numbers 2, 5, 7, 27, 28, 29, 31, 48-51.
I live in Alexandria (just south of Old Town). It would be nice to carpool with someone if possible. I can either drive or ride with someone. I can leave whatever time on Friday and would like to do the run/swim on Sunday.
Hi, I'm a new member really hoping to attend the camping weekend. Does anyone have room in their car for two people and two bikes coming from Courthouse area? We will gladly pay for gas. Also, it appears the DC Tri campsites are filled up. Does anyone think they'll have room for an extra 2-person tent at their site?
Thanks so much! Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Tara- I just booked a camp site (#32) , which I believe is right next to the ones the team booked. You can gladly set up your tent there!
I look forward to meeting everyone!
I have room for one more person and bike to comfortably fit in if you don't mind your bike on my hitch rack.
Can I assume the club is only coordinating the campsite reservations and everyone is on their own for everything else ( food, water, nutrition, etc)?
On the Google spreadsheet, I didn't put down a preference for any specific campsite; will someone just direct me which site it put my tent on?
Thanks Nick and Itziar!
We're going to go ahead and rent a car for the trip, but, Itziar, we'll definitely take you up on your offer to set up our tent on your site. Then, we can split the cost of the site for the two days. We're planning on getting in Friday night around 8pm.
See everybody then!
Here are links to the SM 70 & 30 bike courses, scroll down to print out the cue sheets if you like, although I believe the 70 is still well marked on the pavement.
How many tents per site? -- pablo
Site 50 is restricted to one tent. John Wirth says he likes body heat to keep him warm! ;)
Is there any news on the swimming permit? John Havill needs to know if he should pack his arm floaties or not.
I will like to ride with someone that has space for me and my bikes. Please let me know if you space.
Pack your floaties! The swim permit was approved!

John Havill and John Wirth you guys are making me jealous that I am gonna miss out on this weekend.. Sadly I'll be relaxing on a beach in Delaware. And PLEASE take it easy out there - I really had no idea you guys need floaties in the water (may have to reconsider that lake arrowhead swim later this summer) ;)
