Found at the team tent:
-black sunglasses with skull & red flames on the sides
-Kodak Zoom disposable camera
Let me know if any of these are yours.
Hey did you happen to find my Glazed doughnut out there. I am starting to think someone may have ate it. Gonna have to go back with a CSI unit and conduct an investigation. Thanks for getting me one, I am sure I would have enjoyed it.
My 'undercover' investigation and fact-finding mission at the dc tri tent post-race suggests that, Mark, you may want to interrogate either Casey or Hans about that doughnut. :) Was that lip gloss they were wearing? Or, just a sugary glaze?
Also lost, by many:
-- Lack of confidence
-- Fear of open water
-- Fear of changing a tire
-- Worry about not having enough left for the run
-- Fear of triing something new and difficult
-- Real-world worries while racing or working out
Found, by many:
-- Love of swimming
-- Love of biking
-- Well, maybe not loving that run that much after doing all the other stuff beforehand.
-- Tons of workout (and HH) friends
-- A creeping, endorphin-fueled desire to start thinking about the next race immediately after the last race.
-- The odd notion that, hey, maybe it's just, just possible to do a half (gulp)...
yes! why does this happen?? i was dying out there and now i'm thinking i could do a half...
A good CSI would develop the pictures on that camera STAT...
lost: the assumption that doing halfs, full IMs, or marathons prepares one for the NJ run.
You can do a half - throw that run out the window with respect to consideration.
It happens because triathlon is life - life at its finest
That camera won't help budding sleuths solve the mystery of the purloined doughnut. Now, if it were a blueberry cake dunkin donut, that would be another matter.... My sister says the camera is probably ours since she can't find the one she had. Sandy, can I pick it up at the NTP HH?
Sunday was soooo much fun (in good part due to the commraderie of DC Tri shirts on the course everywhere it seemed!) and an incredible sense of personal accomplishment.
I'm starting to lose count of how many people in the past two days I've encouraged to give the Tri a try. ;)
I'm looking forward to Nation's Tri in 7 weeks!!!
Marathons did not prepare me for the lack of breath as I got out the water. However, OWS with Simon, race prepand training with NTP Co-Leaders-- Julia, Sandy, Casey and Travis, AND encouragement from DC Tri folks got me to the finish line.
