For those that swim at Haines point, is there a good time to go when it is not crowded. I have never swam there before but would like to because it is a 50 meter pool. Is the weekend not a good time to go. Thanks.
On Sat. and Sun. afternoons, from 4-6pm, there are on average 4-5 people per lane (usually 3 lanes)...but its not bad at all with the longer distance. Not sure about earlier on in the day...
Can't wait until the 15th when I can take a break from the chaos that is Eastern Market pool during the week.
In years past, I've gone a few times on weekday afternoons, and it was relatively spacious. If you can get there on week days about 3-4pm, I think that's a good time.
What's the deal with admission these days? I never been there, but I remember hearing that until late summer last year, they weren't checking for DC ID, and therefore everyone was getting in for free. Wondering what the scoop is this year.
They gotta pay for heating up the pool somehow.
I haven't been checked for DC residency, yet. They're usually not too strict...
Towards the end of the summer last year, they got pretty strict with checking IDs. Bring it just in case. I'm planning to swim tomorrow afternoon around 12 or 1.
