How far is the ride to Seneca? Do you turn around and come back the same way on River Road, or is there another loop that the ride takes? Thanks,
Any slower riders want to form a B group this Saturday? I'm thinking more like averaging 18....
From GTown to the T and back is about 47 miles.
The vast majority of the time when people do this route, it's an out and back. Every once in awhile folks will get creative and hit Pessimon Tree.

See yall tomorrow at 9!
The sun is out, 9:25 in G-Town it is. See you there.
The HIPster "B" group crossed paths with the "A" group briefly. 55 clicks from Ballston to the T and back. Windy. Katie H, Tarus (strong as a bull), and Dave flew up those hills; Tammy too...
Great to see so many people out of all pace groups. Way to get out there DC Tri! See you next Saturday.
It was a great time riding w/ the HIP B group preparing for Rumpass next weekend. Hopefully we can do it again on the 24th. Thanks for pushing the pace Team.
Anyone got a map/cue sheet for the ride we did Saturday? I don't know the route and was just goiong where I was told.
It's simplicity itself, Wombat.
From Gtown, go up Wisconsin, left on Reservoir, right on MacArthur, right on Great Falls at Great Falls park, left on River Rd. at Potomac, MD, and turn around at the T, namely Seneca Rd., and return to Gtown. Then run 15 miles.
Ed ... she gets lost following arrows on the ground pointing her in the correct direction along the Eagleman course. Your description will do nothing but send her to the front door of a Vietnamese re-education camp :)
Details on the route can be found on the first post on this thread but here is a MAP that shows the route out to Great Falls and back.
If you continued out to the 'T' at Seneca, instead of turning right on Oaklyn, you continued straight on Falls Rd for about another mile and then turned left onto River Rd. (190) and rode another 7-8 miles to the T where River Rd. meets Seneca Rd. Turn around and return back on River Rd. You can continue on River Rd. past the BP gas station and take a right on Persimmon Tree. Persimmon will dead end at MacArthur Blvd where you'll turn left and return to town.
You'll notice on the map that there are a couple of turns that not everyone takes. That is the right onto Mountaingate (mile 15) which adds a good hill to the route. Also, you can head into Great Falls (~mile 18) toward the parking lot and ride back up that hill. You'll only add these hills if you want killer quads like that Cambodian guy Tuan. (He is Cambodian, right? Or is he Thai? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's it)
And lets not forget the Mass. Ave. hill - a personal favorite! ;)
I almost had you Saturday Andy...almost...another 25 yards and you would have had to get all riled up like when those Bike Rack guys passed us last year on Mass Ave...
Instead of running 15 miles after that ride, I just went back and ate Chipotle.
Is the ride back to 8 AM this weekend? Looks like the rain is supposed to be cleared out by then.
Should we keep it at 9 a.m. for another week? Hopefully it will be drier and warmer by 9.
Some were thinking of heading to Poolesville which might necessitate an 8am start...takers?
Oh, looks to be a gloriously windy day as well...but not bad at 8am...but not getting any better either -
Any decisions been made yet about tomorrow? If the voting is still open, I say 8 AM
