My vote is for 8 AM at Wisc. & M. Considering the temps are going to dip (~32' in the AM tonight and the sun comes up at 6:45.

My plan is to head out MacArthur and cut back at Oaklyn (~30 mile'ish). For those that are new the to the Sat. ride, my guess in that the pace usually starts out 15 - 17 mph avg (with lights and all) and then opens up to 20+ mph past Suburban Hospital on the flat stretch on MacArthur as a pace line generally forms. After that is obviously varies once out on River Rd with the hills, but probably stays in the 20 mph avg range.

I'm definitely doing 7am. The less traffic and having one more hour later in my day is worth it for me. But I completely understand if people want to go later. Someone please confirm if I should wait up at 7am over at eastern market s'bucks on 8th?

That's too early for me this week- so I'll go later (around 9a) but I'll catch up with the group next weekend. Hopefully the weather will improve for the season and we can get more rides in.

NelsB7po, good point. I'm defiantly a wimp when it comes to the cold as I'm from Hawaii. I may join you at 8am. Im new to the area and am certainly looking for new routes. If it's still pretty cold in the morning, I may wait till later. If i decide to brave it at 8, I'll meet you there. If I'm not there, don't wait up.

Do you anticipate a large group?

Have you done the bike route to Hawi from Kona?

Okay guys, I'm leaving directly from home. Have a great ride!

I am from out of town and would love to join you all for the ride if it's not freezing. Where do you meet at 8 AM?

If I'm not there, is it safe to do a similar route around 9-10 AM or do most people stick to trails? Is the route primarily on Macarthur blvd?

It's safe, but not as safe as the weekend car traffic grows. The route is basically MacArthur, right on Falls, then left on River, all the way out if you want to a T on Seneca Rd.

Thanks - gives me a route to check out anyway. If traffic is heavy I'll have to resort to loops at Hain's I guess...

Hey guys,

I'm out of town again this weekend but a lot of us are looking forward to getting back on the Saturday rides next week. It's awesome to see so many new names keeping the rides going. Should be a great season!

If you haven't noticed, there is a ride map on the first post of this thread. Also, if you're looking for another cue sheet, click on "train" and then "cue sheets" on the website.

Enjoy the ride.

Perched on top of my trainer,
Travis

Nelsb, I'm new to the area and certainly welcome riding with others so that i can learn the routes. Can i meet you at AZ and McAurthur at 8? Im coming from Belvoir, will be parking at the Waterfoul Sanctuary near Arlington and riding up from there. I'll be happy to meet a little later also as i welcome any additional warmth that the sun will provide.

I know this is late in the game but there is a small group also going at 9:30 from CapHill and 10:00 from Georgetown. Same route and same meet up. We're just going to Potomac and back. Good to see people getting out.
jenkinsbr - you're welcome to join us.

Anybody have a cue sheet or a map my ride link for the Saturday Ride? I'll take either Georgetown pick up or the Capitol Hill start. Thanks!

There should be one on the first post of this thread. Also, if you click the "train" tab on the left side of the page, and then go to the cue sheets, there are more there that will get you out of town from Glen Echo, which is on along the way of the first map on MacArthur Blvd.

I hope to be there Saturday. We'll try to make sure everyone knows where to go as we get the Saturday rides rolling again this season.
