Hmm, any chance a 5:30pm ride time would be doable?

I'm gonna try to make it down there for a couple laps this evening. Can't make it by 5:30 though, so I'll either catch you guys at 6ish or I won't.

Pretty weak excuses here for this morning - hopefully on Saturday I don't hear "it's too sunny, I can't race." The rain actually let up and it was great resistance training into the 20 mph head winds on the back side.

There was hardly a soul out there, which meant blowing the stop sign wasn't a good idea. I was already writing the check in my mind when I got pulled over, but luckily I got off with a warning.

That sucks. Glad to hear you got off.

I'd LOVE to get down there by 5:30, but that's not really realistic for work for me (to leave around 5). Ryan, Phil, others, what if we meet at the stop sign at 6 and if you've already put in 30, we can add 30 more or start a new hour.

My evening just opened up... I hope to see you out there.

Hitting a run first so my legs may be sort of shot but then again, I'm used to getting dropped by you studs.

I'll be there too... if any non-studs would like to join me ;)

Phil, Pat, Travis, Others - My plan is to rollout around 5:15 from our usual meeting place by the corner of Ohio and Buckeye Dr and ride an easy zone 2 for 45 minutes then meet up at 6 at the stop sign with the rest of ya'll. Anyone interested in starting earlier, come on out and meet me!

Just checked the radar and it looks like the storm may stay west. I'm planning to head out if it's just another sprinkle like Tuesday, and doing a short loop off the bike like Patrick had planned.

If the rain is bad I'll probably just swim and so a quick tune up bike/run down at Myrtle before bike check.

Anybody else going to man-up for a final pre-race ride if it's just a sprinkle?

yeah, i'm in if it's raining very lightly. otherwise, I'm aiming for the late afternoon/evening.

not that you asked for any advice, but i'd suggest going gentle if you ride/run friday. takes a little longer to recover. i'm going to search out a swim friday afternoon to try out my new xterra suit. Maybe we could meet up for that.

I don't know guys, this rain looks like it's here to stay. However I'm in if it passes.

Pat, bit me up for the swim on Friday.

Yeah, looks like my hope that it would be a light rain didn't happen.

My schedule freed up this afternoon, so let me know if you guys head out around 5 or 6 tonight, otherwise I'm just going to do a 20 min bike/ 10 minute run tomorrow (mainly to check the gears), with a swim this evening.

Patrick - I'd be up for an ocean (I assume) swim Friday, since it looks like it should be wetsuit legal. I'm hoping to get down there by noon. I'll hit you up offline.

A few of us are shooting for a 25-30 min. open water swim around 5pm tomorrow starting straight out from the Horizon or so...

OWS tomorrow in MB is an awesome idea, and I hope I can join.

Just want to make sure you all know the race actually takes place in the Intracoastal Waterway and not the ocean...? Not that ocean swimming isn't *great* training for any kind of OWS racing...

Sorry, I neglected to specify we're OWS'ing in the ocean with the sharks, as opposed to the actual race site. You dont' have to be fast, just faster than your buddy!

Thanks Tom!
Two things:

1) Riding/running tonight. The roads are drying up, but it looks like it's going to rain again in the next hour for the rest of the evening. Like this morning, if it's not raining hard, you'll see me out there around 5:30-7.

2) Coordination for the OWS Friday. Looks like this is mostly coordinated, but let's move any further discussion off this Hains Point mornings thread. There's a new one for any coordination needs here:

Anyone going to be down there tomorrow morning? Mid 40's is the expected temperature, though the water may keep it a little warmer.

sorry for the late post, but i'm going to take the morning off. If you're interested, I've got an hour of zone 2 steady state on the schedule for both tomorrow and Thursday.
