The fast group meets at the stop sign. The B group meets at the tennis courts lamp post.
--Abby (B group leader)
Yes, I'll be at the stop sign at 6:30a for the "A" group ride.
I have an "easy" steady state ride planned, but guessing that won't last long. I haven't been out in a few weeks, but guessing that the NCVC guys will be riding tomorrow as well.
Anyone riding after work today?
Hoping to get in a long ride, including loops with the folks doing Hains before the HH.
Sorry Wes, some of us decided to set our alarm clocks this morning! There was a good group (both newbies and regulars) out there this morning along with the NCVC crew. I guess we'll have to wait for a Travis' 2012 debut too!
Craig (from NCVC, rides a black Leader TT) is now sending me the workouts, so I'll do my best to post them here since I know it's sometimes hard to hear before we pull out or you may hop on late. For the most part, I should be out on Tu/Th regularly weather dependent.
Definitely great paceline work this morning and good rotations on the steady state ~25mph pacing. I think I had us at a ~24.5 mph avg. on the Garmin including slowing.
Oh also I didn't see anybody wearing DC Tri kits in the group, if you're if the market for gear might as well get a DC Tri kit at Champion Systems Shop. Shipping's only $8 and I've got my orders within 2 weeks in the past.
Any questions, feel free to log in and click on my user name (nelsb7p0) to send me a personal message.
I stayed up too late watching the Celtics lose last night. Not sure why... I don't even like the NBA.
So, Wes, I'll be out there tonight around 6:15.
Yea, Wes, set your alarm. I am planning on riding around 5:30, followed by a billion white russians at happy hour.
I'm riding tonight. 90-minute easy z2.
Last I checked, the population of Russia is only ~141 million, and I doubt all of them are white.
I'll be out at HP around 5:30-7:30 doing the ride-run thing. See you all down there.
I think I'm going to start making it next week. I really mean it this time. I swear.
In prep/tapering for EagleMan, I will do some easy spinning both Tuesday and Thursday this week, if anyone else is on the same schedule and would like to join me. I will get started at 6:15 at the lamppost near the tennis courts!
Not doing eagleman, but I'll be there at 0615 if anyone wants to ride a harder.
I'm in. Being a newbie, I will give the slow pace a try.
I'm planning to be down there at 6:30 to ride hard. If there's no one at the stop sign, I'll ride backwards until I find a group. I'll be on a black road bike and DC Tri/Snapple kit.
I plan to be down there. Hopefully I'll get there early so I can warm up before 6:30a.
sorry for the late post, I'm planning to clip in around 6:15 for a short lap warm up. here's what Craig's got on tap for tomorrow's workout...
-7 x short loops ascending pace
-22 mph, building to 28 mph by the final loop [i.e., 22, 23... ...28 mph avg]
-easy recovery between the stop signs
-meet at 6:30 am at the usual spot [stop sign near the tennis courts]
see you all out there tomorrow, weather's looking good.
sorry (again) - Craig and I tried to squeeze in an extra w/u lap and were a few minutes late to sync up with the group. Think it was probably for the better since it sounds like there was two good sized groups and we were able to pick up the stragglers.
Not a problem. I waited by the tennis court lamp post until 6:15 for the B group but ended up going solo. I will make another attempt next Tuesday.
BTW does everyone ride TT bikes? It will be sometime before I get one.
Brady, next time, you guys should ride backwards to grab the group. We could have used the help and I had to leave early to get home. That was a good workout though and perfect weather.
@mattjstrom, it's a mix. Today, our group had a split right down the middle--half road, half TT.
I was there! Lamp post at 6:15!
Will be there on Thursday, same bat time, same bat place. Same bat pace, too: tapering for EagleMan.
