Will there be a B group tomorrow (6/3)?
I'll be there tomorrow morning. Not sure who else is in? I'm rolling @ 6:30am sharp from parking lot next to the tennis courts. My goal is to do four 10 min tempo intervals @ ~20mph, depending upon the wind, with 5 min easy spin between each interval. Anyone is welcome to ride with me...I just ask that you arrive warmed up and ready to go so we can get a solid workout in and make it to work on time.
I want to join you, but I may still need an extra day to recover. I'll make a game day decision in the morning.
Workout for the A groupers...
-4 x 11 minute efforts
-recovery spin after each
***back by popular demand...the longer intervals. Let's start out at 25mph avg and see if we can get to 27+ by the last one. The weather should be great***
I don't plan to run tomorrow, but more than likely will on Thursday if the weather cooperates.
To piggy back off Joanne's comment, arrive warmed up and ready to go! Hope to see some of you out there tomorrow.
Thanks for posting Joanne.
I have to pass tomorrow. Dry needling on my calf tonight and have to wait 24-36 hours before a hard workout.
I am running tomorrow and won't be joining you. I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, June 10.
Sounds good, see u then.
I'll be in the parking lot next to the tennis courts at 6:30am tomorrow morning. I'm planning at least six gate-to-gate intervals, starting at 20ish mph and building from there. Let's hope the weather holds! I will cancel by 6am if heavy rain/lightning seems likely.
Anyone riding in the AM?
I haven't been in a few weeks but I'll try and be out tomorrow. The group is always there.
Is anyone riding/doing a workout at Hains pt TUESDAY morning?
looking for a group to train with.
Thanks a ton.
For anyone who has done the Tues/Thurs rides over the last several seasons, you'll remember Brady Nelson who was organizing these rides along with Craig.
Brady left us and moved to San Francisco a while back. He quickly acquainted himself in the active scene there, including getting aligned with a few other DC Tri transplants, and was kicking ass training.
Unfortunately, Brady recently had a serious bike accident. Among other injuries, he basically broke half of his ribs, punctured and lung and had a fracture in his neck. His spirits were high and he was dedicated to toughing out the pain and getting better quickly. There have been some pretty dramatic setbacks along the way and he's facing a much longer road to recovery than I think any of us had originally expected. At last update, he's in an induced coma to help his body rest and recover - specifically targeting his lungs and the complications that have arisen as a result of the puncture.
There are a few ways you can lend some support to Brady if you wish.
1. Brady's parents will be updating his progress here: http://ryannelson21.tumblr.com/
2. Since Brady's family is going to have to rent an apartment in CA to care for Brady for the next couple of months, here is a donation site that was set up so that we can help his family cover the unforeseen costs of food and housing: https://www.payitsquare.com/fundraiser/64062
3. If you'd like to send a card or a note to help keep his spirits up as he works towards recovery, you can send a note and/or card to Sarah Swigart (Brady's roommate and DC Tri alum) and she will read them to Brady. Send along a funny story, a memory you have with Brady or an inspirational note...anything that we can share with Brady to keep him fighting. That address is:

Brady has been a great supporter of DC Tri and a friend to many of us. Let's do everything we can to rally around him and help him and his family through this most difficult time.
Thanks, everyone. Stay safe out there and I hope to see you on the road soon.
