Philadelphia and The Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon will host the 2010 event (June 25-27) and Richmond and the Rocketts Landing Triathlon will host the 2011 event. These are spectacular race venues strategically located throughout the region and will offer all clubs a first rate championship event in nearer parts of the region.
The advance selection and announcement of these races permits clubs to mobilize members and set schedules to maximize full club participation. We plan to vigorously market these events to clubs - big and small - to continue our championship tradition. The cash award will be $5,000 for winning clubs.

The Philadelphia Triathlon is now open for registration.
That is great news. I am glad you guys announced it early this year Cory. We will definitely make sure that we promote it.
Yeah for USAT Mid-Atlantic for announcing not one but two years of CC races! Last year, the race directors were talking about it in Feb. and didn't announce it until April. And, we still trounced.
Yeah for CC being in Philly! Great town and race. Also, a good place for NTP goal race. *HINT hINT*
I am in!
It would also make a nice consolation prize for Philly after the results of last night, heh heh. (And for Richmond after the events of 1865....)
Well said Ed. I found myself cheering for the Yankees for the first time in my life. It was awful.
Lisa i think we are exploring options closer to DC for the NTP goal race. Ideally something with the sprint and oly on the same day.
the yankees, geez how anyone can cheer for a bunch of admitted and proven performance enhanced drug dopers, is beyond me.
i think the nyc race would be a better venue for ntp than philly but both races fill up too fast.
are there any local races smaller ones for ntp to do? i've notice that tehre are a lot of smaller races but they are usually at the tail end of the season.
That’s great that they announce it well ahead of time
However the race will sell out in 2 or 3 weeks probably.
And due Ironman expenses I am on a tight budget right now and might have to wait a month or 2 to sign
Will the club will have some guarantee entries like this year at north east ?
Is this race is qualifier for the Club National Championship as an Individual?
We need some rings on the other hand now.
I cannot believe that I will most likely not be competing in the club champs for a second year in a row. That's the same weekend as IM-CDA.
Hmm... two weeks after Eagleman. That's pushing it. :(
Thanks Cory! Great planning on USAT's part. Those are good races. How soon does Philly sell out? Two weeks after Eagleman is perfect taper time for an oly PR.
Yay! Thanks for announcing so quickly!
And I personally L.O.V.E.D Rocketts this past. Yes, it was turned into a du because of the weather, but that race director was awesome! It was a fun course - especially if you like running stairs!
Two weeks after Eagleman and month before Lake Placid... :-(
Man this is awesome. I wish I could be there for 2010 for you all, but I will be gone. I will definitely be there to help you in 2011. I will also be back in time for National Club Championship, so if you all can post when registration is open for that one. I will sign up while I am abroad. Good luck everyone, and bring it home again.
I'm signing up first thing in the morning (pay day!). Who else is in? We HAVE to beat Philly.
Is there anything in particular we need to do when signing up to compete with the team? Just sign up under DC Tri? My first olympic distance was Nation's last year but I am looking to do one earlier in the season next year, is it hard to get points?
In order to particpate in the Club Championahip, you must register as an age grouper in the Olympic Distance. And yes, please write DC Triathlon Club as your club. Points are not awarded for any other divison (athena/clydesdales) or for the sprint. Points are awarded for each participate competing, additional points are awarded for traveling a certain distance to the race and more points are awarded if you place in, I think the top five in your age group. But note that is the top 5 out of the other people competing in the Club Challenge.
Do relays count towards the club challenge? What about volunteers?
Either way, volunteer if you absolutely can't race (c'mon IM CDA and Eagleman people, it's an Olympic! Your immune system should be strong enough for the Schuykill!). I volunteered at NTP race 2 years in a row and it's really fun to watch 100+ DC Tri'ers storm the finish line.
Relays do not count either, only age group. I'm not sure about volunteers but like Lisa said, if you don't want to race, please volunteer.
Just signed up for the Olympic, but sure a pricey one at almost $200. The finisher medals better be 14 carat gold!
