USAT-MA should have considered the race''s entry fee when selecting the race as the Club Championship Almost $200 for an Olympic distance is nuts! (I think Columbia is "only" $130 plus no lodging because it is local.) Yes, the Philly Tri will probably sell out but it doesn't mean it is priced right. I stopping running 5K when they started charging $35 entry fee.
honestly, i think USAT MA has a tough job. high entry fees are the name of the game there is absolutely no way around it for a good olympic distance race in the heart of the season.
they are sort of limited with races to choose, afterall most fill up within minutes of opening. I am surprised philly is taking this long to fill up, but its probably the only race that is still open that can accomadate a club championship besides say nations tri, and that race will probably sell out very quickly this year. And the smaller races may not be able to even accomodate the possibly hundreds of people that may come to the race from clubs.
USAT-MA sent out a message recently announcing that the regional club champ. race is filling up fast.
Don't miss out as we shoot for our 6th consecutive championship!
i'm surprised by the anti-philly sentiments.
