Tri friendly doctor???
POSTED: 5/23/10 10:52 PM

Hi guys - Anyone know of a good doctor that understands us tri people and our aches and pains? I'm looking for a general/internal medicine doctor in the Falls Church/Arlington area.

Please let me know.

After telling my internist that my knee would hurt after running for 5mi or so, she actually asked me "Why would you run that far?"

Clearly, that is not exactly tri-friendly. Tuan's forum searches all point to orthopedist recommendations. As far as a general practitioner goes? Good question! Sorry I don't have any good recommendations to give you, but if I come across anyone as I try and schedule my next physical, I'll let you know.

I use Dr. Antonetti at Patrick Correnty's practice in Arlington. While I haven't visited him for tri-specific aches and pains, he's always been really supportive of and interested in my training/racing. He seems to take a very well-rounded view of health.

I would also highly recommend Dr. David Antonetti and the Correnty practice. An amazing group of very caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable physicians. Always accessible too. 703-243-6143.
