Description: Making a smart return to running following injury requires a gradual approach to training that some runners might find frustrating. But would you rather make pain-free progress toward returning to running or jump back quickly and possibly experience a setback as a result of re-injury?
This workshop will address topics that include:
- Common running injuries
- Factors that impact your readiness to return to running
- How to know if you are ready to start running
- What to take include in your return to running training plan
- Common causes of setbacks when returning to running
Instructor: Dr. Robert Gillanders, PT, DPT, is a 25-time marathon/ultra-marathon racer, whose accomplishments include the Grindstone 100 mile trail run and four Boston marathons. He has also competed in multiple triathlon endurance races and is a triathlon ironman finisher. Robert is a contributor to Runner's World magazine and a consultant for local running and triathlon teams.
