Cycling Skills Clinic & No-Drop Ride
Date: Sunday, November 6, 2011
Time: 9:00am – 11:00am
Location: Rock Creek Park Tennis Center, 16th & Kennedy Streets, NW, Washington, DC 20011. (We will be meeting in the large parking area near the tennis building).
Description: This clinic is being held to help cyclists improve their cycling skills and confidence riding. The clinic will focus on bumping, contact, and balance drills to improve confidence on the bike and riding in a group. Although most of the drills will be done on grass at very slow speeds, some contact drills will be done on pavement.
The skills session will be followed by a No-Drop Ride. The ride will provide cyclists with a great opportunity to improve their road riding skills in a safe and fun environment. Skills such as pace lines and riding comfortably close together will be practiced on the ride.
This clinic is open to people of all levels of cycling ability.
Clinic Leader: Sonja Evers is the 2011 MidAtlantic Criterium Champion, and 2008 MidAtlantic Time Trial and Road Race Champion. A CAT 1 road racer, Level 3 cycling coach, professional mountain biker, and physical therapist, Sonja brings unparalleled expertise and experience to this clinic. Sonja will be ably supported by cyclists from Team Sticky Fingers.
Please bring your bike and helmet, and come ready to ride and have fun!
