I forgot to write down the name of the coach recommended for triathlete-swimmers (i.e., my goal isn't to improve a 50 meter race or flip off a wall.)
Unfortunately, I can't seem to find that string of comments.
Can someone please give me a good person to contact?
Also...anyone have or use a Vasa Ergometer or Vasa Trainer to improve their swimming? Comments?
The name that I got 2 weeks ago was Lloyd Henry. His e-mail is:
I've taken two lessons already (Total Immersion program) and I think he's great. He teaches at a pool close to Hains Point.
Fitness Concepts has a Vasa Trainer and it is a very useful supplement. While it will never replace time in the pool or instruction, it is a valuable tool to isolate certain aspects of technique. In particular, you can work on your catch more effectively without the dynamics of rotation, breathing, timing the arm pull, etc.
It does also provide an effective musculqar endurance workout for the lats and the internal rotators.
Excellent...that was the name...I just dropped him an e-mail.
Glad to hear there's a place that has the Vasa to try out - I'll give them a call as well.
Thank you both!
