Arlington Public Schools Released the following announcement this afternoon:
This afternoon, Arlington Public Schools administrators learned about a threat at Washington-Lee High School. Public safety officials were called immediately and conducted an investigation. They determined that there was no imminent danger to students and staff. However, as a further precaution, after consulting with the Arlington County Police, APS officials have decided to close the W-L building this afternoon at 3 p.m. This action will allow police to conduct a more thorough search throughout the building. This decision includes the operations at the W-L aquatic center, and all evening activities and classes, including all Adult Education classes, have been cancelled for today.
We will notify community members by approximately 6 a.m. tomorrow morning about any further change in our status of operations. This means that the W-L aquatics center will not open until 6:30 a.m. at the earliest. We regret any inconvenience this decision may cause students, families and community members, but we want to do everything to ensure the safety of our community.
Thanks for the note! They got the "all clear" from the Arlington Police and resumed normal schedule this morning.
