Training tri?
POSTED: 5/27/10 12:00 PM

Hi, the dc tri newsletter has hinted at an upcoming training tri at Hains Point. Is there any more info on this? Date? Registration?
Thanks!
Gabby

Hi - I was wondering the same thing. The Newsletter said that registration would be open today at 9am for NTPers. See below. I wasn't able to find a link on the website. Maybe I missed it?

Training Triathlon: Sat, June 5, 7am
Where: Hains Point, 1067 Ohio Dr SW
Details: Early, NTP-only registration will open this Thursday morning at 9am and close on Thursday at 5pm; normal registration will open on Friday morning at 9am and close when the event is full. The early registration is ONLY for NTPers, so please don’t share this - we will be checking the registrations to ensure that only NTPers register during the early period. This is a 400 meter pool swim, 16.5 mile bike (3 long loops) and 3.1 mile run (1 short loop). It is a great opportunity to practice transition and other race day strategies before your goal race at the end of the month. Cost for the event is $10. Early registration will be open at 9am-5pm on Thursday, May 27 in the "Shop" under "Training Races and Programs".

Eric ...

"The early registration is ONLY for NTPers, so please don’t share this"

It looks like you are now the NTP co-leaders' best friend. Bryan is so going to slash your tires and pee in your lane :)

I may be to blame for that. But I don't get the NTP newsletter, I just noticed that it was open in the Shop.

Well ... if you want Bryan to pee in your lane, I'm sure he'll oblige but I don't get why people are so quick to want Bryan to pee in their lanes :)

It has yet to be determined whether the swim is wetsuit legal. But due to me following the new USMS rulings, no suits going below the knees and covering the shoulders will be allowed.

Oh, 28 spots left and counting.

Dang. If it was just no covering shoulders, the bib john from my 2 piece Desoto would have been perfect. Guess I'll have to practice the T1 transition this weekend out at Sandy Point.

Okay, if someone really wants to wear any other than a swimsuit or tri-suit, then be my guest. If someone challenges my rulings, I'll just mark them down for a two minute penalty and they must help me pack my car after the picnic.

Missed the sign-up for the Training Tri. Is there anyone who can't make it who would be willing to give me there spot?

Thanks, James.

James, there are no typically no transfers for the club's races. See this post from a few days ago: http://www.dctriclub.com/forum/messages.cfm?tid=F44EEDFB-F6C1-B1B9-C5B5584D92D599D2

James, right now there is about a ten person wait list and only one of those slots have been filled. If I don't get any more openings after tonight, then there won't be any more openings.
