curious what it's like in general, and esp the 6-8a time period.
clean? crowded? lockers? showers? 50? 25? lane availablity, etc.
paint me a picture if you've been there,
I've just started going here regularly and love it. It's 50, gets semi-crowded in the evenings, but not bad at all in the mornings. I had a lane to myself for a protion of my swim last week at roughly 7:30 AM. With it being a 50 pool, 3 people in a lane is not bad at all.
It's super clean and new. They'll even give you a lock for lockers if you don't have one. Great lockers. Also, there always seems to be guard posted in the locker rooms. I've been very happy training here.
wilson pool is awesome. go if you can!
It is awesome--2 hot tubs, lanes divided between "casual/medium/fast" although many of the medium folks belong in the casual lane......
They have a master's swim, but it's full :-(
I went at 9am on a Sunday, and while the kiddie pool was kicking, the lap lanes were fine (about 3 to a lane, circle swim).
You're eliminating my excuses.
Good info. Thanks.
yes, i agree with all previous posts that the facility is awesome!
but in response to nicole's comment about the masters swim being full- i was quite bummed about that happening so quickly!
are any of you morning swimmers interested in meeting up for some sort of semi-formal group workout on weekday mornings there? i'd love to have some company- i have a hard time motivating myself to do structured workouts/sets on my own. maybe one or two mornings a week? 60-90 minutes?
can you pay when you go (how much for non-DC residents) or do you have to get passes like a non-resident does for Hains?
I haven't been but I've heard $4 per visit for non-DC residents and you can pay at the time. Hains is different because of the National Park Service.
