Zipp 808 valve extenders
POSTED: 8/01/12 11:17 AM

A little help please! I just got a set of Zipp 808/404 wheels for Ironman Louisville, however I'm having a difficult time putting air in the tires (tubular). It seems that my presta valve pump head won't fit over the extender. The only way I've been able to put air into the tires is to use my CO2 kit. I'd like to use my regular pump, but I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. Any suggestions?

Buy another pump? I have Zipp 606s also. I have a fancy Leyzne pump which pumps great on regular tires, but can do didly with the extenders. I have a cheaper Topeka that can do both Presta and Schrader.

The Topeka works perfectly with my Zipps. Maybe you can bring your wheels to a bike store and try on different pumps to see which one will work for you.

That worked. Bought a new pump, much to the chagrin of my wife and the tires are now inflated. Much appreciated.
