Anyone else plan on registering for the inaugural event?

In and already registered. Should be a fun race.

Very tempting. An alternative to the sauna of Eagleman. From the map on their web page, that swim course looks kind of long though :)

Raleigh in June will be just as hot, if not hotter, than Eagleman. I recall when I was running track in college we traveled to Raleight in April for a meet and it was probably twenty degrees hotter than Maryland. A longer swim would be tempting though (right Tuan).

I know the Raleigh area well and have run/swam/biked in that area. It can potentially be an awesome venue. As long as you don't mind racing in 90 degree weather with high humidity.

Don't be a chicken.

Agreed, it can be very hot & humid. I did White Lake 1/2 in NC put on by Setup Events on May 5th. Temps reached 89 during the run & it was a sufferfest out there. Good thing is that the later June date "could" help it a bit in terms of heat acclimatization.

Then again, jbrez and I did San Juan 70.3 with temp in mid80's and high humidity in March. It's all relative. Good luck.

This one did look intriguing. Does anyone have a thought on whether this is gonna sell out? If so, do you figure we are talking days, months, or at packet pickup? I'm not exactly ready to pull the trigger for June 2013, but I don't want to get shut out either.

I'm in.
No idea if it'll sell out. Haven't seen/heard alot of buzz about it, so there's a decent chance it'll stay open a while. No kona slots also helps that (vs. Eagleman). But it's an east coast race, fairly well located, flat, and early season if you're planning a late season IM. -Jason

They seem confident on their FB page that it will sell out. Could be marketing to get people buzzed about it...will be a fun race either way.
