Hey where can I find a program for beginners to compete in a sprint tri? Thanks,
Hey zephyrb -
We have an annual NTP (new triathlete program) that we host. It's a 20 week program that prepares new triathletes for a sprint or olympic distance race. Unfortunately the timing on your inquiry is a tad too late for this year's program as we've been training the group in preparation for the DC Triathlon coming up on June 20th. If you're interested in NTP Class of 2011 keep an eye out for sign-ups next winter. Here is a link to the program's page on the website:
All that said, we always have tons of opportunities for new comers to get out and train along-side some of the more seasoned folks in the club and learn a think or two. Two of the most notable upcoming summer opportunities are our training tri series and our Saturday morning brick workouts. Both are a great venue for meeting folks in the club and just getting out there to train! Check them out here:
Poke around the forum a bit and you'll find that we have tons of these opportunities posted.
Hope this helps!

www.trinewbies.com has a free 11-week sprint program (the one in pdf file) that I used for my first race. Very basic build up - it assumes you're not currently in shape.
I'm in rock in roll shape right now, I'm a bike racer and our season started months ago. I swam compt. and ran comp. so I need about 2 months.
Thanks for the info, now where do you guys swim? Practice that is? Thanks
