Hi Hina - I'm in too!
Spin master Rob has been known to sweat a bit during workouts. Should we buy him TWO yoga mats? :)
I don't know of any Rob's teaching the class, only a Ron :-)
And yes, I don't ask of you guys anything I don't put myself through...
In and would very much appreciate a ride from the U street area. I'm happy to contribute gas money, coffee, breakfast, etc. for a ride. Thanks!
FYI, I will also be teaching a Mon night (545-630) and Weds morning (630-715AM) session at Revolve Gym in Clarendon. This is a new boutique indoor cycling gym that just opened with nice bikes with clips (both SPD and Shimano 540 style). They are currently running some discounts on their webpage, which avergae out to about $11 a ride if you buy the 10 or 20 pack. If you are interested, they offer many classes and you can check out the three types of rides offered as well as the instructors. Goto www.revolvefitness.com to have a look see. The discount will only be open thru the end of the year.
If you want to try it out and get a free class go here:
I'll be having a special holiday themed ride for both my Mon night and Weds morning classes this week, and would really love to have alot of you guys come out and try it, even if you dont have any intention of paying for the classes. The feedback from people who have tried it thus far has been pretty positive. Red noses strongly encouraged!
Had about 14 slots open as of this morning...if we don't have anyone else from the thread interested I'll go ahead and send it out to the masses on the weekly email...
1 day Groupon today: $20 for Bowflex heart rate monitor.
Are there still any open slots? I am interested...
Head on over to the Shop, there are 11 spots remaining but going fast so be sure to secure your spot today...Ron teaches a great program!
For those who don't know, Ron is AWESOME when it comes to teaching this class. No doubt, a fun social event afterward. I'm frankly surprised why he never charged us cash for this last year. Clearly, a valuable session.
Let the sufferfest begin!
How do you sign up for this?
Do you need to have your own trainer?
I'll respond, but if you scroll back, you'll find details.
1st: You need to "Shop" for this item. Click on the "Shop" button, find the training plan, pay the $75, and join.
2nd: Someone in this thread, I think you'll find a Googledocs spreadsheet. Add your name to it so people know who you are.
Yes, you need a trainer for this. I bought my Kinetic trainer on Amazon for $200. As boring as it is, it's a very valuable investment.
Anyway, all the information is shown in this thread. Page back to find it.
In case anyone needs to do last minute shopping for themselves or missed the earlier info, here is the info on the Freshbikes/Conte's group buy on the trainers:
Freshbikes has asked us to share the news that they are planning a group buy for a Kinetic Road Machine + Riser Block for $280 (original price: $380). Email or call Dana Stryk at the Arlington Shop: Email: email@example.com Phone: 703-248-9600. If you are interested in a different trainer, they also can provide discounted pricing thanks to your Tri Club membership but you'll have to contact them for specifics.
Btw, I'd suggest hopping on the trainer before then for an hour, maybe 2-3 times between now and class start. Your butt will thank you for reacquainting yourself with the saddle.
Only 4 spots remaining and 2 weeks until this program begins! Head on over to the Shop to secure your spot today!
Senior moment: Is the first day the 7th?
Yep, first day is the 7th. And am I ever glad that the DC Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is the week (two weeks) AFTER these cycling classes end!
I just tried to sign up, but it says no more spaces. Is there still room??
